This could be the solution to xbox live bans. Is there a way to do it yet? Or is that planned to be included in the next bios release?
ok dat wont work cuz its just the Volume serial # theyre talkin abt (volume = partition) not the 1 of teh actual drive which is wat is causing the prob.Changing volume's serial number

An article showing how to change drive's serial number
Nopee,, ur wrong, the serial and model #s are NOT stored on the EEPRom . Config Magic just retreives them for u and puts it on the screen, the serial and model #s belong to the hard drive and are stored there..PhatheadWRX said:The HDD serial and Model # are storred in the EEPROM. so change those. Model # gives a rough volume.
However, now MS must be only getting serial #s because if they were using Model # then everyone with a non-stock HDD model would be banned. NOW, they are just making sure the serial #s do not change.
However, if and when MS gets smart and starts getting checking Model #s then you will have to change that in the firmware to represent a srock drive. make sense?
Right on, well MS is only getting serial #s now or everyone with nonstock drives would be banned.DaInvinCiBleGama said:Nopee,, ur wrong, the serial and model #s are NOT stored on the EEPRom . Yeah, correct. If you have signed on XBLive before upgrading the HD:Computertrendy said:This is all so confusing.
What we would have to do, is change the new HD serial number to the old HD serial number we first signed on XBL with? And make sure the key is the same?
