hdd and flash protect problems

It should be noted that my old mobo fried and i recently purchased a new one, i'm trying to get the xecuter to work on it. two problems, both crappy. firstly, even when i have the mod chips flash protect switch to the left it says "Read only???" which if i am to understand correctly means the protect is still on. It won't let me flash giving the "Unkown Falsh! halting" error. a few times i have got it to start flashing, but after the green bar starts to go it always stops at 1/4th of the way. the second problem, is that all the hdds that i put into this thing give the error "Unable to read HDD first sector getting partition table". For all i know, all 3 of these hds could be locked. if they are locked, does that mean i have to have have the eeprom backed up from my original xbox? i have that eeprom backed up on the hd itself, but that is inaccessible. are there and windows utilitys to unlock a hd without its key? not that it would help anything since my xecuter3 refuses to flash past a quarter, the times that it feels like flashing. I've tried with the front switch on banks 1&2 and with the front switch disconnected. 1 more thing, if i locked these Hds, i'm sure i used config magic to do it, does config magic use a default key to lock all hds or is it different every time... for some reason i seem to remember it being something to do with the group who wrote it... (team assembly?). i haven't used my xbox in 4 months as i just now ordered a new mobo and x3. if anyone could help with any of the problems, that would be great.

First, what version is the new motherboard? Second, what bios are you using? Third, what switches configuration have you set the X3 control panel. If your new motherboard is any version besides 1.6 or 1.6b, you need X3 2913.bin. If you have 1.6 or 1.6b you need X3 2913 v16plus.bin. In any case, set your X3 control panel as on on off off off when flash.

My suspicion is that since all three of your hd are locked to the old motherboard, they are sort of useless now since you have a new motherboard and cannot be used with the new board and yes, the default key for configmagic is teamassembly.

version 1.0, trying to flash with X3 2913, i had the switches set to on on off off off, then i tried it with the switch disconnected, then i tried it with the switch to the right. same problem all 3 times. also, if what you say is true, then if i ever get this x3 flashed (which is looking unlikely), then shouldn't i just be able to launch configmagic from a cd and on-the-fly edit the eeproms dh unlock password to teamassembly so it will unlock all 3 of those hds? while on the subject, i believe i read... albeit some years ago... that there was a dos based program that could unlock the hds without having the key? thanks for the reply and i'm looking forward to more ideas. SOMEONE HELP ME FLASH THIS THING =-p

try switch to off on off off off (bank 5678) and see what it does.

same problem, and this chip was bought months ago so i can't just send it back to retailer. maybe if xecuter ever comes a long he can do something, otherwise... i'm still accepting ideas... =-(

maybe he knows what to suggest. As a last alternative, I offer to flash it for you if you send it to me. I won't charge to do so but you have to pay to have it shipped back. As I said, it would be a last alternative if you have no other options.
