like the title says,
I have a falcon jtag, if i have a hdd connected on the side it freezes up at the xbox logo,
I re flashed it's nand with freeboot, thinking it might be a bad flash. it booted up, I went to format the hdd and it froze half way through the format, now it just freezes at the xbox logo, if I take the hdd off it boots fine without any problems.

the hdd works on my other falcon jtag (after it froze on the other), it will format no prob, I get to create a profile, it allows me to ftp to it, boots games etc, it seems to work fine.

the only difference between them is one didn't have a DVD so I had to make it think was supposed to have a lite-on (only spare drive i have) instead of a hitachi (what it used to have originally), could it be that?

if not has anyone got any ideas what else might be causing it?

thanks for any info.

most times this error is a botched update on the hdd.
hook to pc and do a real format as the xbox only does a quik format and does not rly erase anything.
as far as the dvd drive goes how did you make it think it had a lite-on if the xbox came with a hitachi and you only had a spare lite-on then you would spoof the lite-on to think its a hitachi not the other way around.

I used coolshrimps jtag tool to change the nand's drive info from hitachi to lite-on, so the xbox nand looks for a lite-on instead of a hitachi. then I used that to create the freeboot image.

I have also hooked it up to a pc and deleted the entire partition on the hdd.
but like I said it works on my other jtag just not this one.
