HDD Locking and Unlocking

I've been trying to lock my seagate 200gb hd for some time now. I used man numerous programs, all failed. My question is:

I've put many programs and games on the disk after i formated it and then tried to lock it.

Would the drive lock if I formatted it clean again ?

Comparing the lists of hdd, mine seems lockable 90 some odd percent. So did I mess up and left it unlocked before installing programs?

If your hdd will not lock now then if you reformat, it still will not lock. Your particular hdd might not be lockable.

I would have to agree. Formatting it would have nothing to do if it's lockable or not. Guess your the unlucky 10%.

Oh, and just from looking there...
if your model # is a ST3200822A there's mixed results on whether it will lock or not... hmmmmmm
