GENERAL HDD problem.

Hi

I've done something stupid here, but I'm buggered if I know what.

I just connected my HDD to the USB Pro to see if it would show via a XB360_HD_Adaptor V2 and hey presto it shows. I tried it with xplorer360 first and 3 partitions appeared. I then tried it in Modio and opened drive all way through to Profiles. I did press re-sign after opening a profile in modio but I only did that as a matter of coarse and not because I did any mods to the profile. At this point I was well happy with things.. I then put HDD back in to Jtag and to my surprise it did not recognise the HDD. I then tried it through xplorer360 and Modio again and everything shows.
When Jtag boots it just goes to nxe instead of FSD as ini is set to do, and when I look at HDD in nxe system / memory it just gives option to format but not to view.
Anyone got any ideas how to recover from this or is it going to be a re-format job?

Needs a reformat buddy you made changes somehow so configuration of the hdd is different to what it was hard to fix if you don't know what changed, you will spend more time pissing about then what it would take to reformat and transfer files.
Take what you can off it to transfer back after format walla job done lesson learned. ;)

Thanks Johny2good.

I think your right. I recon I re-signed in Modio off the HDD when it should be done on an extracted file. Thats my guess anyway. Ill just grab my profiles and start again. It was starting to look a bit messy on there anyways.

Thanks for the advise. :)

only options are exFat and ntfs, neither will make it format on jtag. Its just saying action can not be performed after entering s/n. Does it need to be fat32?

I just re-checked s/n and its right.
One odd thing that its started to do is its looking for windows media player in nxe when it boots up... is that normal?

Still not letting me format though.

goint to try fat32 thanks for the link.

lol, yes it comes up with media centre even with no HDD attached and I have to press X to back out of it. never seen it before but there's always a first for everything.
I didn't want to bring this old chestnut up, but it's possible the kids have been messing with it the day before. Thank god its update proof.

anything is possible reflash feeboot dash to it again it don't sound right buddy it would explain the madness.
I think I will. I don't know if it was working before hooking HDD up to PC, like I said before it could have had sticky little fingers messing with it the day before so only way back is back to basics i think.

Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

Will have to pack in for the night but will update you tomorrow with good news I hope. ;)

ok. re-flashed freeboot but now getting E69 error and one bottom right rrol. If I take HDD out then just get black screen.
Could not get usb to recognise when flashing so had to use Xexmenue on disc to find usb and activate Flash360 xex.

So now wondering if the HDD has a problem, (is this possible even though it formats on the pc)?

d34n0 what are you doing buddy you seem to be getting in a bigger hole on every post if it was the hdd then removing it would fix your Jtag booting up the Jtag can still boot into the dash without the hdd.
But your getting a E69 & a black screen now if the fb was the right one then its starting to look like the GPU or a bad flash to the nand with fb.

Removing HDD did fix problem but it was trying to go into Media Centre for some strange reason on every boot.
Im going to use nandx tonight when I get in from work. Last night I considered trying a HDD off 2nd xbox before flashing but it is running on latest dash so wasn't sure if plugging it in would have caused a problem. Im pretty new to Jtag and this is the first and only one I have done.... When I say I have done, I actually mean Manwithoutname had to help a hell of allot on the virgin install because it was being a total bitch. As I remember it was reluctant to load freeboot back then, and then after flashing back and fourth it finally worked. Anyway all QSB's are still in place so not much of a job to plug nandx in. If this doesn't work I will have to take it to someone that knows there Jtags (I just don't like to be defeated that's all and don't feel like I've learned anything if I give up on it).

Well...There is one thing that may have happened, i.e. there is something wrong with the Xbox360 HDD adapter present in the Xbox360 HDD casing which converts the SATA connection into the connector which connects to the Xbox360......

Never thought about that. I have another Xbox with HDD in a case so will swap them over and try it. I need to get the Jtag up and running first though... Going for my tools as I speak. :)
