hdd question

just a quick question do i need to have a larger hard driver to use the f: and g: parts on ftp? because i cant use either one. ftp looks like it works but then they disappear and its not the filename being too long. if i do i will up the hdd to lets say 100 gb what do u sugg??

first i would suggest bigger than 100 gigs.

and if you get a big hard drive and format with the X3, you can actually have all of the space in F: it doesnt have to spread to G: that is how mine is set up with a 200 gig drive.

but the more space the better. dont cheap out and get a smaller drive. you will be happy you spent the extra money.

thanx for all the suggs really appreciate those. so the original question has an nswer of know the stock hdd wont store in the f: drive right??

I would say no i've also been trying and just said the hell with it and went and got me a 250gb one. But now i'm faced with the question of how to install it. i know i'm supposed to go to config live and format it but i'm confused about the locking and unlocking i'm so burned from reading 1000 guides that i cant hold any more info...can anyone help me out. ( I dont really plan on going on live so do I even have to worry about that?)

Depending on the drive you have in your Xbox, you might have an 10Gb rather than an 8Gb. Check the tutorials out over at xbox-scene.com ... there is a trick to unlock the extra 2Gb.

Realistically, 2Gb is SFA in terms of increased space, and you will be better off dropping some cash on a new HDD.

yea ima just go get a 120 or bigger hdd in a couple of days maybe then ill be good. thank for all the help guys
