hello chaps,

I recently installed my first mod, an xecuter 3 (thanks to some nifty guides on this site) and i am about to isntall a new HDD.

I have backed up drive C and E onto my pc so far but;

Firstly, do i have to backup the "Admin" folder? (contains memory flashbank files)

Are my saved game files saved on the two partitions i have allready backed up?

Once everything is backed up and saved, do i just wack in a new HDD and use the New Hard Drive Upgrade in the x3 bios?

to be on the safe side back up EVERYTHING

saved games are on the E drive

and yes just just use the Dard Drive backup in the X3 bios after that, obviously then you copy your backup on it

yep backup then turn off the xbox, then put your new hd in. Now turn the xbox on go to the hard drive prep utility and format and partition the drive. now just ftp in and transfer all the files back :)

recovering dvd key

so hears what happened:
my brother saw a listing in Craigslist.org to have his RROD fixed so he called the guy and gave the guy his xbox 360. when he got it back it was a totally different xbox.
the "new" one has a Liteon drive that looks like it was taken apart and tried to do some rewiring on it. apparently it failed because the xbox gives a E64 error (bad dvd rom). well i swapped it out with a new samsung MS28 and it goes straight to the dashboard with no problems. is there a way to get the key off of the motherboard or something so that i can pair the new drive with that xbox?

Re: recovering dvd key

if the xbox is JTAGable, yes

you will have to JTAG hack it, then get your CPU key through XELL and decrypt your NAND

or just call the guy and demand his xbox back

or call the cops

Re: recovering dvd key

if the dashboard is version 7371 or lower, it is almost certainly JTAGable

Re: recovering dvd key

you could try

i think your best bet would be to try to repair the traces and reattempt the MRA hack
