Hi guys,
I just finished my RGH and now there is a strange issue baffling me.

1. I have my Xbox connected to a HDMI monitor
2. My Xbox av composite cable is connected to the 2.1 Sub-woofer system.

Now all was working fine earlier... before RGH

NOW after RGH, there is a small issue

1. IF BOTH the cables are connected, the console does not boot, or sometimes boots, the booting sound is audiable as well, but NO DISPLAY.

2. IF I remove my av composite, all is good and it boots fine glitches in 5-10 seconds.

Is this a known issue or is there are any workarounds for this?

many thanks

How did you dump your original nand? Maybe dumping with both cables attached could help. Just a theory :rolleyes2:

Nothing was attached, how does dumping nand with cables attached gonna change the nand size.....?

I dumped the nand 5 times checked for differences none so I proceeded....

BTW is there anything to support this theory???

thanks...
Back in the days when jtaggin consoles it was sometimes recomended to attach cable when dumping nand. Not sure why thou:confused:

So I havent anything to back up this theory:facepalm:

well thanks :) & no worries any replies much appreciated.

Thanks martin,
What I have is the standard Xbox composite cable, I have removed the outer casing so that I could use it with hdmi cable plugged in.

It was working fine all this time I was using both from June 2011 till yesterday.

Any help on this matter is appreciated, also I take it this may not be a known issue.

Although there are loads of people saying no display, they can first check if they are using the av composite together, if yes then try restarting the console with composite disconnected.

You say it worked before?
Because using my Jasper with a DELL 2408 Monitor and connecting both HDMI and composite cable always result in an infinite reboot loop and no display.
If i connect the same Jasper to my LG LCD TV with both HDMI and composite video for sound it works without a hitch.
The only solution I found for my DELL monitor is to use the special audio out cable that gives you an optical out and RCA analog stereo out connections without composite.

Well it was working all this time,

My guess is that CR is drawing power from the board so supporting both AV Composite and HDMI is not possible, its either HDMI OR Composite.

Guess I need to get myself a HDMI -> VGA & AV Composite converter cable.

Thanks anyway,

I just tried with almost the same setup as you. Connected HDMI to TV and composite to stereosystem.
Did it with a SLIM and a Jasper. Worked fine, no problem.

If you have access to the console still, what HDMI settings did you have? Autodiscovery disabled/enabled etc.

Might help the OP.

Coolshrimp's tool
BestPig's tool
360 Multibuilder

any ideas guys?
Or else I should resort to Pazoozoo's method of using that cable.

will keep posted. Pretty funny situation
this proves that there is nothing wrong with the following

I thought you could only use one or the other, My composite cable blocks the HDMI port so I can't use HDMI at the same time.

Edit: are you using the same dash? is stock 13604

If you break the case off the AV composite you can use both, thats how I used all this time.

Yes I have 13604 dash

I have a similar case, the HDMI only works in Xell Reloaded, the 13604 only with component video or composite.: Confused:

Well the first step I would try is

Reset the console display settings

If the display problem is still not resolved, reset the display settings of your console. Here's how:

  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn off the console.
  3. Turn on the console. Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.
  4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

Found the solution

Ok finally with a lot of background checking and testing found a solution,
before that thanks a lot to Martin, Pazoozoo, afiser and everybody who contributed to this thread.

The problem was in two stages...

1. I (like a total Jackass ) was using the wrong cable, you are right guys I was not supposed to use the standard one which comes with xbox in conjunction with HDMI... but for some unknown reason which I'm not interested in finding, it worked until the RGH was done.

SO After purchasing the cable Pazoozoo mentioned, it was fixed.

but NOW display appears system boots but the fan does not start.:eek2:

Again its me being a Jackass
I made the 12v fan mod... (which makes the fan run in 12 v ALL the time even in bootup.
Apperantly since coolrunner is trying to glitch and fan tries to take 12v some reason if it doesnt get enough juice the fan dies...

So I reverted back to the normal setup and YAY....
All is well and a RGH... loving it so far with NXE, XexMenu & Nxe2God.... Amazing

Thank you guys...
Thanks TX.
