HEEELLLLPPPPPPPPPPP...bios error

v1.6 xbox, x3 ce chip, accidentally flashed it with a non v1.6 x3 bios, now it sits there like a dead duck with a blank screen.


Please help me as I;m stuck.

you dont say which bank u flashed over...have u tried booting the other 1M bank..
or tried booting backup (press pwr and eject together).

Once in backup set switches to overwrite the non 1.6 bios and reflash

Elsewhere here...........

There is both FlashBIOS v3.01 and v3.03 programmed to these mods

X2.6CE
Bank 1 v3.01
Bank 2 v3.03

X3CE
Banks 1-4 v3.01
Banks 5-8 v3.03
Backup v3.01

SO if you get the black screen / orange flashing / no eject then you have a v1.6b and the mod is switched to v3.01 - you need it switched to v3.03

I'VE TRIED THIS AND IT DOENT WORK (for Me)

sorry, it's a v1.6b, i flashed the one it says to in the manual, and i tried the backup bios,and the other 1mb bios, but it restarts 3 times, then sits like the dead duck. as a last resort, i'm may try adding another 4 pins to my original x2 in MY xbox and try the x3 and backup bios in there

You flashed over your only working bios...major bummer dude!! Put the chip in an older Xbox and flash it, or hotswap your chip in another 1.6B xbox. Or send it to someone to do the flash for you, but they will charge. That is unfortunate...

Thanks for all the help people. I came to the above conclusion myself also.
Why the hell don't they put 3.0.3. in BOTH 1MB banks AND the backup bios (where it would actually be useful)?, it would save allllll the hastle if you make an error on a 1.6b?????????

Job Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I added 4 extra pins to my lpc port (as i have a 1.1 box with a x2), put the x3 in my 1.1, it fired up lovely. flashed it with 3092 v16plus.bin from inside x3 live on banks 5.6.7.8, and rebooted. I lost video on my 1.1 (as expected , different video encoder, etc). Took the x3 out, put it back in the v1.6b and all is well with the world.
