i gota x3 right did the pin header and it would go on and off then stay on but no video. so i said screw it i like the wires so i desoldered the pin and in went the wires...just finished like 5 minutes ago and went to go test it and sure enough BAM it also doenst work could some 1 kindly help me before i totaly destroy this thing

although i'm not an expert, i might have few suggestions.
1. disconnect the modchip. boot normally w/o the chip. does it frag?
(if it frags, then it is your d0 point that needs to be checked)
2. if boots normally w/o modchip connected, d0 point is okay and its time to start checking the lpc for possible cold joints, lifted traces etc..
i know it must be very frustrating. i hope this helps.

it boots fine without the chip and i have checked and rechecked the lpc i just dont know what to do it looks like 1.0 no 1 can get it to work
since it's not fragging w/o the chip, all points to the lpc. when you connect the chip does two blue leds light up when starting w/mod enabled?
Well, I wouldn't say no one. I installed an X3 in a 1.0 and it works like a charm. I also installed an X3 in a 1.6 and that was even easier than the 1.0 (thanks to the LPC rebuild pc board and no solder in the holes for the lpc port).
Just thought I would post my experience here as well, a couple of people have had issues with 1.0 and 1.6 XBoxes and in each case someone thinks that those are problematic. They aren't in all cases though.

The power surply fuse going does a similar thing and normaly involves smoke. Trust me I know it has happend a few times to me. Check that if not check that you havnt created a short circuit whilst soldering :shock: cos that can be bad.

to power a 0800 drive i just use onboard sata as the pc will detect it once flashed with 0800 firmware but to power it i use a ck3 pro which can be purchased from modtraders.co.uk
