Hi there,

I am wondering if anybody experience or can help me out with this problem. I have a version 1.6 XBOX installed with Xecuter 3 install about a month and a half ago. It was working fine until, one day I boot the XBOX and all it did was fragging. The first thing i did was try to disable the modchip and give it a try, this sequence of events happens. Red on the panel and eject blinks a few times and panel turns blue, try to boot a 3 times and shut itself off.

Then I removed the xecuter 3 chip and give it a try. I now get blinking green and no video/audio and I can't even eject the dvd rom to do a eeprom fix. I checked all LPC connection and all rebuilt wires and yes they are rock solidly soldered in. Since it did work for a month and a half, and I resolder the pin-headers and LPC rebuilt, it's confirmed it's nothing to do w/ bad soldering.

I don't know if the 680Ohm and cut off LFRAME0 fix will have saved the board from this incident. I have not been implementing that fix on all 1.6 installs I am doing. Would it be necessary to implement that fix in? There are like people saying "you need it" and other people saying it's "BS". So I am confused on this one.

I would appreciate any kinds of inputs about this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I have done a few more tests on this problem and I have found that when I flash the chip with either Cromwell or FlashBios with the X3 modchip in, the XBOX will boot but still starts up weirdly. The X3 panel turn red for about 3 seconds, and eject light blinks green rapidly. Then turns blue and it runs either the FlashBios and Cromwell BIOS. With any other BIOS when the panel turns blue instead of blinking green it just frags green/red (blink sequence). When i take the chip out, it just blinks green 3 times rapidly then normal speed green blinks. I try to do an eject on the dvd but no sucess.

I am suspecting there is a bad eeprom image on the motherboard or possibly a fried Xyclop chip. If anyone here has an idea of how to get the eeprom on with linux/cromwell please let me know. I think it could lead to solving the problem. Please help me out.
