Can anyone help, I follow the method by using jungle flasher and I can find the drive, but when i cycle the drive it doesnt grab the key. It just returns an error. (SLIM KEY FAILED) Can anyone help???? - I only need the dump.

No I have an CK3 Blaster PRO, what do i need to buy instead. I didnt realise i needed something different. I just need a DVD dump so i can add the files to X360Key drive.

i would suggest a x360usb, and a ck3i with probe 3(for PHATS) and a sputnik probe or a sputnikswitch

well i can give you my oppinion now ive gone through hell and back with my experience without the x360usb pro.....
if you have a ICH10 chipset or a JMICRON sata chipset stick your original drive in (preferred the JMICRON port) and then run dos flash to tell you exactly what port ID you are using.
Next run windows and launch JungleFlasher.....go to the second tab up top and look at the left which shows you th list of ports in your chipset. Select the port you discovered in dosflash and your drive should appear,
This point i think you have it sorted with using VIA chipset. As stated by above users...thats a lame board for using with the 0225 and above....even 9504 once flashed by M$ will not work with it.
if you dont have the ICH10 or JMICRON chipset then you will need the usb pro to be certain to get your job done....otherwise risk a cheap JMICRON 363 Sata board and try again.......intro - powercycle - vendor mode - read slim key
it worked for reading with mine all the time with the original PCB...(im guessing this si what you are talkig about and not a replacement?)

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but i am having the same problem now, i CAN see the drive in jungleflasher using my onboard sata on my pc, now my question is
if i am able to SEE the drive in Jungleflasher shouldnt i then be able to read the key, i ONLY want to read the key but get the SLIM KEY FAILED.
any thoughts really appreciated

you are only clicking on "slimkey" and when it asks you if you want to slim unlock you say "NO" then on the next box you click "YES" ????

If you will.. Try this out. All you need is a USB to Sata/Ide cord, VIA Sata PCI Card, and a Sata cable. Make sure you leave the dvd drive plugged into the dvd power cable inside your xbox. This works for me and my slim like a charm...
Step 1) OK, make sure your 360 Slim is ready and hook the power molex to the 0225 drive.
Step 2) Connect the USB 2 IDE/SATA cable to the back USB port of the 360 .
Step 3) Conect the SATA data cable to the SATA port of the 0225 drive.
Step 4) Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to the SATA port of the USB 2 IDE/SATA cable
Step 5) Turn on the 360 by using the power button (just touch it)
Step 6) Now eject the DVD tray via the eject button and then press the button again to close the tray.
step 7) Now disconnect the SATA data cable from the SATA port or the USB 2 IDE/SATA cable, leaving the other end still connected to the 0225 drive and connect the SATA cable to your VIA VT6421A PCI controller. Make sure to use the right SATA port on the controller.
Step 8) Now open Jungleflasher v0.1.86 beta and select the DVDKey 32 tab. (If using Vista or Windows 7 make sure to run program as administrator).
Step 9) Make sure that the drive is detected then press the "SlimKey" option. Please Please Please double check to make sure that that "Dump Dummy.bin Only" is NOT checked. Obviously, checking this box will only dump the dummy.bin. You're going to be wanting more than just that file. You'll also be getting a Key, Inquirey, Security, and Identity.bin as well.
Step 10a) Another window should then pop up asking if you want to send unlock to slim, make sure to choose "No".
Step 10b) Jungelflasher should then start the process of retrieving the key.
Step 11) Once it is done, make sure that it lists the key and that the key is verified
Step 12) Once verified and all checks out you will be asked to save all files
(Make sure to save all windows that pop up.) This is were all the extra files will be asked to be saved... Please save them.
step 13) once done -- click 'outra /ATA reset''
Step 14) Close Jungle flasher and save the JF log file.
Now do the whole process again and save the bin files to another folder, close and make sure to save the JF log file and compare each JF log file to make sure the keys match. Do it three times or more if you want but make sure you have the right key cause without the key you will end up with a 360 DVD player if anything goes wrong and renders the 0225 drive inoperable.
That’s it, you just dumped your files and saved them.

cheers m8, but i havent got any of those things, ive already had to buy a new unlocked replacement pcb on top of the £270 for the gears of war console lol, this is gettin expensive

An extra 20 dollars and you'll be able to extract the key from your slim extremely easy... If that much really.
i plug the sata into my pc, turn on xbox, open JF, go to the DVDkey32 tab, click slimkey, the first option i choose NO, then second option i click YES, then i get slim key failed, JF prompts me to turn off the drive and back on again within 1 second, i have tried this and i have tried NOT doing it and it fails every time
ill have a lookk how much the ide to usb thing is m8 cheers

so you turnin the xbox of itself lol.
best get a ck3 pro or a ck3 lite or ck3i to power your drive.
then you can power cycle it right.

after you click yes for the slim unlock try unplugging the power cable from the back of the dvd drive and plugging it right back in. as long as you do it fast enough you should be able to get your key
