if i was you i would get a ck3i and a usbpro.
then you have no issues getting your dummy file.
you pay £270 for the gears of war console.
and you use it to try and flash your drive,it's not recommend to do this.
if you dont want to pay any more £ out to get the right tools.
then find somebody to do it for you.

no i wasnt turnin the box itself off m8, i was pulling the power plug out the back of the drive itself
alot of chipsets have problems reading the 0225 drive. a ck3 would be helpfull but unplugging the drive and plugging it back in would work. i have just verified this several times with one of my 0225 drives. i would recommend getting a usb pro.
yeah i know very few chipsets can read the drives, but as mine did i thought then i should be able to get the key, i am borrowing a CK3 to try that, my drive is 0401, dont think that makes any difference tho does it??

a ck3 makes no difference in whether a chipset can slimkey or not
the problem is this: he has a chipset that is poor or isn't compatible with slims
very very few onboard chipsets can slimkey
my recommendation: make sure you are using the primary SATA port for your xbox drive (SATA 0)
if you still can't slimkey, your computer isn't compatible with slimkey
that's when you call a friend, or buy an x360usb

i no about the issues slims have with sata.my point was to use a ck3 to power the drive.instead of his console.

I know sata is problamatic, i have difficulty getting my team x pcb into vendor using sata, i have to probe MX, think its 101 with probe 3 to get it to kick into vendor, but might not work for you getting slimkey. all i know is when i click intro and power cycle, if i dont probe mx hole with probe 3 it doesnt work.

You Didn't at any time say that you opened and then closed your drive....that may have been your problem....
hhhmmmmmmm..........I don't think so lol - besides - he's sorted and on top of that the thread is 3 weeks old lol
It works on all FW version liteon drives no need for pricey equipment. All that is needed is usb to sata, via 6421 card and ck3 lite or pro....
