Help, Controller won't do anything in FlashBios screen

After x3 install on ver.1.6(b?), I get to the FlashBios 3.0.3 screen but cannot change or select menu items with controller. If I boot to MS dash by holding the power button just a bit longer I am able to navigate with the controller, change the time, etc. with no problems. Boot back to the FlashBIOS and still nothing with the controller. Anyone run into this before?

Search the forum. I could not count the number of posts identical to this on my hands and feet! ( and yes i am being more grumpy today than usual.... i put my cat down this morning.... so don't complain!)

thx... sort of a newbie at this one. Sad now that PS3 is around the corner... looks like it will put the 360 to shame unless they faked some of it as the rumors go (I hope not).

Oh, I didn't mention... The other original contoller worked, the one that came in the box with the unit (default black one) didn't for some reason.

while the PS3 is roumoured to have a better core power, we dont buy consoles to compute the 15 millionth prime number (not all of us anyway) but usually to play games. Sony are hasy about the GPU power of the PS3 and many say that it is calculated at only 1/3 of o the 360s GPU power.
