no, i think that the rf module is bad and probobly needs to be replaced. so ill go to target or gamestop and pickup a new remote and see it that does it.

Have you tried to remove just the flex cable? Or with a wired controller

ive just checked the pics of where you soldered... where the red and black go for the nand reader - i might be wrong, but they could be touching each other causing the short..., remove some solder from those points, use flux if you have it and just heat the solder up with your iron and dip some copper wire in it so it will soak the solder up.

worth a go..huh ?

nope. still not that either. where the plug goes into the xbox, to the right of it there are some small capacitors. when i put my finger on them, it doesnt short out. it just makes a humming noise.

i think ill just run it under sum water... lol
The board does have a problem for sure, Always turn on the console with the Heatsink and fan assembled.
