Hello i need some help with flashing my samsung ms28.

Heres what i did

I bought the Via VT6421A card, installed it and the latest drivers. I prepare my floppy disk (cant use usb) using the latest iprep, select the firmware (1.2 rev c) select my sata controller hit format and make bootable.

Inplug my hd and dvd ide from the motherboard, turn on the 360 and pc at the same time, boot into dos on the floppy and plug the 360 dvd sata into the via card then type the correct command (iDump my serial) it then says no drive detected! if i have my hd or dvd plugged in it only comes up "master ide"

Been trying to get this to work all day :(, any ideas?

cheers

You still have to disable firmguard you could use the 10 second trick (see textbook's tutorial) or you could use the 0800 hundred disk (see textbook's tutorial). I personally feel that the 0800 hundred disk is easier way to go as i spent hours trying to get the 10 sec. trick to work. Only thing you have to remember when doing using the 0800 hundred disk is that it has to be burned on a dual layer dvd disk.

Hi,

I have just got mine all done. BUt i didnt use the floppy drive (as this was not reccomended)

I used ntfsfordos, and booted into dos from the cd drive, when using iprep it puts a folder onto the harddrive. And you run it from there.

I had been told that need a small hard drive as dos has problems registering the big hard drive over 10gb. ( i luckly found one in a old computer) otherwise I did look on ebay, and could get one for about £10 including delivery.

Also you say that you have got the latest drivers for the 6421A, I remember reading that you cannot use the latest drivers and needed to get a slightly older version of this (cant find a link at the mo but will post if can find)

Hope this helps

Bob
