HELP ERROR 6

i had fine working modded xbox. i tried putting the hd from it into another xbox i was modding. then i got error 6. so i put it back into my first modded box and i still get error 6. when i use flashbios it says
1) "unable to get first sector"
2) "unable to read HDD first sector getting partition table"

any clues? i read that if it was just the 2nd message its cause its not detected or plugged in correctly but i know thats not the case

So you have 2 Xboxes (Xbox 1 and Xbox 2 to avoid confusion)

You tried the HDD from Xbox 1 in Xbox 2. Error 6 (yes, HDD cannot be unlocked with another EEPROM).

You put the HDD back into Xbox 1 - still get error 6.

Are you 100% sure this HDD worked with this Xbox before you started playing? Nothing could have been done to it since it's locked.

yup it worked fine before and it was locked. i tried to unlock it using flashbios 3.0.6 but that doesnt seem to work either

this is a 250gb hd where i used slayers

I have exactly the same problem, (however im not sure how relevant this is to this section of the forum) i have a 60GB hard drive that worked fine with a slayers install on my old xbox, i have changed xboxes and put my hard drive in the new one, when i boot i get error 6, or im not sure if i have the right terminology IDE error 04 unable to read first sector, i get this with 3 different hard drives that i know are all 100% working.

im using a Xecuter 2.6 lite chip on a ver 1.4 xbox

if anyone has any info i would be grateful, as the grief im getting from my wife and kids is unbearable!!

You need to unlock this old HDD - have you still got the old Xbox?

Once it's unlocked and working on the new Xbox, you can lock it. Don't use anything other than ConfigMagic!

What did you use to lock it?
If you used ConfigMagic, then you can unlock it on the PC.

i used the lock/unlock feature on slayers v2.6, im told by a friend that he has got hold of some software that may sort it, ill be recieving it tonight so if it does the trick ill gladly pass it on, until then however any info is as usual greatly appreciated.

Unless you have the EEPROM details of the Xbox where it was locked (or you used ConfigMagic), you won't be able to unlock it.

If you manage it, I'd really love to hear how as ATA security is pretty hard to crack. People have been trying for ages and unless you have the correct equipment, it won't work - sorry!!

sorry for this newbie here ps3 died with yellow glow got xbox sorted...dont know what drive or version i have ...with new releases do i have to keep going back to get ..ahem reflashed by the way dont use live just started using abgx to sort my homebrew
