Hi all,

Had a problem with my Jtag Falcon - the eject wouldn't work.
Working from power off (Xell boots and drawer ejects) but from dash eject button did nothing.

Thinking i had a problem with the SMC code i started to play...... i used SMC_io to change my setting to AUD_CLAMP then moved the wire on bottom of board - flashed new image and now i got RROD :(

So.....before i get out my LPT cable and reflash can anyone tell me how to get my eject working ?

I'm willing to send my NAND and CPU key if someone wants to nosey.....

Thanks in advance....

If you wouldn't have had that painful LPT cable, would have flashed original NAND first and see if eject as well as everything else works fine. If so then proceed to creating a new freeboot image using the correct SMC option that you followed for your jtag install.

Personally I would recommend using the audio_clamp & open tray points.

Unfortunatally i don't have the original NAND as i bought the console 2nd hand.

Could i use the SMC code from your sig, inject it into my dump using 360 flash tool and flash it to my NAND ? If so can u send me a pic of the aud_clamp and tray open points....

Many thanks,

You could try. You could also get a faclon donor NAND from my site. You can find pictures for the alternate jtag points in this thread.

Did you have the problem with the eject before or after you JTAG'd?

If it was after, post a pic of the topside of the board near where the DVD power cable connects.

Well i'm back.......... to square 1 :(

Tried to sort it myself, don't like to pester u all too much..

1st attempt - I used the SMC from manwithoutname's site (thanks), injected into my nand using flash tool 0.94 and flashed, swapped JTAG points and it RROD.

2nd attempt - I used smc_io to manually change the JTAG setting to aud_clamp & tray_open, flashed again and it wouldn't even turn on....at all

3rd attempt - I used a donor nand (thanks again to MWN), injected my KV.bin & RAWCONFIG.bin, used EasyFreeboot 5.20 selecting aud_clamp & tray_open, now i got E79 - error 1033 !?!?

I'm now back to my last working freeboot image and still can't eject with the button. If i was keeping the console the DVD Drive would be in the wheelie bin by now but its for a mate who wants to buy it off me so he too can enjoy the JTAG experience.

I would appreciate any help with this and thanks to MWN and Martin C for their assistance so far :)

Injecting the SMC into an existing flash file won't work. Providing you got the jtag installed for audio_clamp and open tray, try this first:

Flash my falcon xell file and report back if that boots fine or not!!!!

Ok, i was gonna ask about your XELL file....how come its 16mb ?
Do i have to flash the full file to my NAND or can i just flash a few blocks for it to work ?

Cheers

Even though its 16mb, technically it's still 2mb the rest of the data is blank. You can flash the first 50 blocks as that's all you need but for now just flash the whole file either using jtag tool with the write bin option or using nandpro >nandpro usb: -w16 falcon.bin

Update : i've tried again, this time i'm using Jtag tool - flashed Xell with aud_clamp & tray_open.... same rrod (0022).
Then i flashed again with original smc points, swapped diodes to correct place and its booting fine

So is the console working fine now then? And what points are you using?

That all depends on how you define 'working' - i'm back to using RF board & ft1u2 points for jtag, press eject from cold - tray opens and boot to xell but press power to boot to NXE and the eject button does nothing.

Starting to think its time to throw in the towel and live without using eject button....... :(
