I installed the x3 correctly and got to the cromwell screen. However, when i flashed my new bios via http method, xbox acts very strange when i restart. If i start up the xbox with the modchip in bank 1 (the first 1MB slot) it will try to start up once... then shut off, try again... and shut off. On the third try the xbox will start up with nothing displayed on the screen and the LED on the open/close button will flash red and green. The xbox does this all on its own. I am quite sure that i installed the correct bios. Please is there a way to reset the first memory slot and where did i go wrong the first time. I am hesitant to use the second MB of flash memory for fear of screwing that up too. PLEASE HELP. Thanks in advance.

just set your switchs to what ever bank you want to reflash press the power and eject at the same time and reflash. there are two bio's version 1959 for 1.0 to 1.5 and 1959_v16plus for the 1.6 xboxes.

I had the same problem and when I reflashed it with the new 1959 it still did it... I then flashed it again and viola it worked. but I had to flash the bios twice.

Thanks, worked like charm... Now I just have to find a good dashboard to use. I've heard that EvolutionX is a good one.

Re: Benq dvd drive dead

no the drive is bricked u need to recover either using dosflash 32 or 64 depend on windows bit or could just make a bootable usb then use iprep.

Re: Benq dvd drive dead

you cant brick a benq drive

If you have a valid firmware and key then use dosflash to fix

Just use any benq firmware and load it into jungleflasher and change the drive key and save to file make sure both keys are identicle

copy the custom firmware to the flash drive

boot into dosflash
erase
flash the custom firmware.
all done
