Help. Fresh X3 install boots to black screen only.

I just installed a new X3ce on my v1.6 . Everything looks good. 5v LED, 3.3v LED, X3switch all function properly. I can boot to the MS dashboard fine but when I try to boot normaly (blue X3logo) I get black screen. How do I get flash bios?

are you using stock a/v cable?

I'm using Xbox component cable but my signal is fine. the Xbox displays fine if I boot in disabled mode. When I boot to the first 1MB slot I get a black screen generated from the Xbox (I know this because the "input" display on my TV goes away). When I boot from the 2nd 1MB slot I get no display ("input" still visable on my tv) and my eject light turns orange and won't operate the tray.

by xbox component cable you mean stock a/v cable that comes with your console?

the stock cable is composit. i have an xbox brand component cable for hd tv.

just use stock a/v cable to flash. Once done you can go back using your component cable

omfg.. i think thats it... component cable?.. can that be my error?... if this is the key.. then Nartac.. you are my savior!!...^_^.. here was my original problem..

can this be the reason?... i get no signal when i switch to Xbox disable mode.. and signal works fine with normal 3029 bios boot..and i am using a composite cable.. stock with xbox...so can my solution be that i need a component cable?
