Time to read the FAQs and tutorials then!

Judging by your other posts, you haven't bothered to do either yet.

Go read and come back when you finished.

ok - for starters, more information is definitely needed.

Xbox version
BIOS used
Dashboard used
Exact error messages
Tools used to format new HDD etc..

ok box 1.3 made in china i flashed it with x3 3108 ok ive placed a 200g drive in which already has games apps roms etc on it the dash evolution x
the box only works when the switches r off on off off off
it turns on to the bios section so when re booted to the dash two drives show up with env errors and bios is unknown all i can do is scroll through the options were only certain things work ie changing skins other settings but i cant play games on drive etc
backed up games do work thogh when played in the drive.

i would be absolutely overcome with joy if u can help

Right:

1. Ignore the BIOS unknown error - it's just your dashboard doesn't have a BIOS entry listed in the config.

2. Explain more about the env errors please!

3. Did you put the games on the HDD - if not, who did? Ask them how the drive was partitioned.

4. Make sure the MS Dashboard files from your old C and E drives are copied onto the new HDD and you LOCK it to your Xbox using ConfigMagic. This should allow you to use the Xbox with the chip off.

cheers for help ur a diamond
right ill ask how the drive was partitioned .
as regards the errors theres not much to tell when the box is in the dashboard mode it shows the data amount on each partition both have env error next to them .
how do i transfer the files from my old drive to the new.

cheers

ok - the env errors are directly linked to the HDD not seeing any games you have in it.

Go into X3 ConfigLive and try changing the partitioning options to either F gets all or F gets 1st 137GB. One of them should do the job.

You may not need to copy the old C and E files over, so leave that for now. Just get a copy of ConfigMagic (Xbins have it - also on Slayers 2.6) and run it on the Xbox. Select lock HDD.

If it says it's not lockable, then it's not lockable!

You will still have full functionality of your chipped Xbox, but you just won't be able to run it with the chip disabled. If you were planning on using Xbox Live, then you should have checked the HDD against a lockability list. Search google and you'll find at least one database for this.

Yes, it's also listed in the noobs guide on www.xbox-scene.com in the tutorials.

There are two things you can do if you son't wish to get another hard drive AND you want to be able to use Live; the first is ghetto, and that is to simply open and close your Xbox when you want to switch hard drives. (You pull it out and swap it with the original HD)
2 is much more feasible, you'll have to do a search, it's either here, or Xbox-scene, (I htink the latter) but it is a tut on cutting a VERY slim area from the Xbox chassis behind the DVD ROM drive to add an IDE cable that has an extra connector
( 1 for DVD, and TWO for Hard drives) so what happens is you connect ONE extra Molex power cable to power the external drive, then install a double pole doubl throw switch.
SO, BEFORE you would power on your box, you would use the switch to select which hard drive will have power when you boot. In essence you would have a totally legit drive, and a hacked box.

Other than that, you can TRY Config Magic Final, and through a MIRACLE it might be bale to unlock/lock an HD that X3 could not.
