JTAG Help! I think I killed my JTAG's KV/NAND?

Should change the wiring. Take off the switching Diodes and the transistor method with AUD_CLAMP / TRAY_OPEN.

Helps pull the logic to 0. Get a clean boot every time.

Hey dude, I'm not too confident of changing the wiring at this point with my bad soldering skills... :(

Anyways, I get christmas lights (2 red 2 green, flashing) with your freeboot. I also cannot get into xellous booting from dvd tray power on.

Any ideas?

Ok with this one i can boot into Xellous, but normal bootup still gives christmas lights (flashing red/green). However, inside Xellous, there is no DVD key and CPU key shown and loads of "Error after CDB" messages...

Okay, what is the method of preparing this image called? Or uhm, like, what do I need to know about this one?
(But inside xellous i see kv_get_dvd_key Failure: kv_read - is it normal for this one?)

That has the info of the donor. You'll need to spoof your drive with that info.

Anytime you make an image. Use Jtag Tool. Make sure it has orginal Wiring.

You might want to rebuild the image I choose NO_DVD patch reason for the errors. But I don't have your DVD rom here to prep it before donating the image.

Load jtag tool paste the CPU key in that txt file in the area in jtag tool. Select make Freeboot.bin and choose the nand that is included.

Hey dude :) My drive image is at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/77055/falcon/Sam_CFW.bin and its a Samsung MS25..

I cant seem to rebuild it - maybe I am doing something wrong?
Here are my steps:

1. Open JTAG Tool and choose Original wiring.
2. Put the donor key inside the JTAG tool cpu key box
3. Click "Create FB" and choose the donor bin which you sent be above
4. Take the created Freeboot.bin and open it with 360 Flash Dump Tool
5. Patch the CPU key to my original CPU key and patch drive type and drive key.
6. Flash image back via NAND-X.
7. Same xellous ERROR after CDB and no video output

What is wrong with the steps? What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Nevermind! Realised that I don't even need to patch the key! Interesting. Is there anywhere I can read up on this kinda firmware? Is there a name for this? :)

Argh, I can't seem to flash my drive as everytime I click "Intro" in jungleflasher, the drive disappears for good and i have to power cycle both my computer and the console.

Will patching the image u give me make it invalid or something? Can I just change the DVD key inside the nand u gave?

Try this one too. The top still has the No_DVD rom patch. This one doesn't. You might want to try the second one an dif it works keep it.

I'm getting "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." with the second file.

The first file gives me christmas lights (2 red/green) but I can go in Xellous...

Edit: Ok, 2nd file downloading now!

The one above u linked had the same red/green problem. Xellous works, but dont detect my USB devices properly..

I have emailed u a hotfile.com premium account - mine ;) you can use it for uploading/leeching - whichever ;)

Okay got 3 images I'm waiting for them up upload. Try them out let me know.

The 2red/2green is due to the CPU mismatch. But i'm try something different. So I built these three images to see if we can get one to work. If these don't work you will have to flash your samsung which i'll help with that.

What onboard SATA connector do you have?

I believe the SATA RAID controller is ICH5-R.
Very old motherboard: Intel Server Board S875WP1-E basic model - with only 2 SATA ports. Definitely Intel ports though!

Let me try the images out now, thanks again

FreeBOOT.bin = Christmas lights or 3 RROD, xellous works
rebuilt.bin = Christmas lights, xellous works
rebuilt - copy.bin = Christmas lights, xellous works

In other forms of testing, i tried injecting my patched donor KV into XBR_Falcon_8955_3a.bin and it worked, but i still couldn't read backups.

Yea cause of the DVD key is different then what is on your drive.

I got one more image to try. If this don't work we will have to flash the samsung to match the donor.

Ok downloading the file now.

Btw, I think the specs manual of my mobo is incorrect. My SATA controller in Device Manager says Intel 82801EB
