SAMSUNG MS25 help/ input on old sammy's

well iv been messing with this sammy all day, it has f**ked up my usbpro, got that fixed thanks to help here, cheers by the way.
anyways, it came in with a bad flash, woulnt give drive properties ect. so I probed it got good flash propeties, and proseeded to erase and flash, .
3-4 f**king times it stopped writing the banks,:facepalm: than had to probe all over again....jesus, is this a regular problem with these, I havent seen a old samsung in quit a while.. now all back together and the laser is f**ked,hahahah have to take it apart again and hopefully a pot tweek will do , or Im throwing in a new one..., never had such issues with a xbox ever...

I personally never any problems with sammys. Just for future, always disonnect the laser.

Same here. I have never had an issue with flashing the drive itself. I have 2 Xenon's with Sammys in them. I don't recall ever actually erasing the firmware on them to write a new one like you would with a Lliteon, but you mentioned it had a bad flash so I don't know if erasing all together works with fixing that. It has been my experience that when dealing with a bad flash it is harder to get it into vendor mode, and when I do I just write over the old firmware and works fine. As far as the laser is concerned the Sammy lasers suck (my opinion) had to change laser on both twice because they wouldn't read retail or backups. Kept getting "To play this disc put in to a Xbox 360 console" or something like that. I change the laser and boom it worked. Sammys are difficult in that respect but a big bonus because no AP2.5 checks. Hope you figure it out.

Ive been there. You got it right in probing, but ive never had issues with lasers and flashing. So i wouldnt worry about disconnecting the laser, but put a new one in there, pot tweaks will only come back. lasers are cheap

I have the same issue with sammys on my x360usb pro, actually have a thread about it but it was never solved. I usualy just moves to my onboard sata when this problem appears and that works. Let me know if you get any solution for the problem.

I belive it happens when there is a bad flash with the sammy and jf has a wierd glitch, its happend a few times but easily fixed with usbpro update tool , fixed the laser alls good now,
one wierd thing id like to mention... I treid to spoof a benq as a sammy(i know its not supported...bla,bla,bla), the interesting thing is, I had a benq on 3.0 and loaded sammy ofw from the bunk drive, jf didnt say it was spoofed, wrote fw no prob, pluged it in the 360 expecting E66 error but nope, booted every game fine including xbgd3's...... but I spoofed it as sam.ofw and it was ofw.??? any input on this one? would post my log but I didnt save it, didnt think it wouldve worked...
