Hello. I got my X3 and i installed it and it works perfectly..(came with flash bios 3.0.0.)...all except for the fact that i downloaded the flashbios version 3.0.3 and ftp'd(and tried it with a cd-rw just as all the websites say to)it to my box like i have read to do and it said that it was installing it and the yellow bar completed itself and then the green bar did the same and then it powered off, just as its supposed to. I turned it back on and it should show the xbox emblem and have the Xecuter rocks my box thing...but it comes back to the flashbios 3.0.0 everytime. Is it my dipstick combonation? or what is the problem? I have the flash protection off on both the chip and the exterior thing. Should i try to do all this flashing from my back up or from my quickpress thing....any help would be appreciated. :D

there really is not much reason to update to 3.0.3 if you can see 3.0 I would just try flash with 1959.

grrr, you are trying to install Flashbios where X3 bios should be..

don't bother update flashbios as you allready can use it.

just flash the X3_1959 bios and act like you never asked this question.

Freezing but no RROD

My xbox has been freezing for the last few months but is getting worse but I haven't had a RROD. It will freeze but there are no issues with the graphics and sometimes the sound will still be going. Some games work others freeze almost immediately. I have tried playing without the hard drive but it still freezes. The one thing I can do to make it freeze consistantly is play Highrise in MW2. I took my xbox to my brothers house and tried different combinations of his hard drive on my xbox and so on. The strange thing was when I used the combination of my xbox, my hard drive and my power supply but his component cable I could play on Highrise with no freeze. Does this make any sense to anyone?

I have tried the fixes that are on the xbox support website with no help. I also contacted them by email but they were no help they just say send it in for repair. My warranty has expired and I don't want to send it in and find out there is something else wrong besides my console.

So does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Please help I am willing to open my xbox and do whatever.

Re: Freezing but no RROD

i wouldnt have thought it would be anything to do with your component cable, was it freezing at all with your brothers cable? could be your drive lazer going but thats unlikley as it would probably come up as unreadable, i would say its most likley the rrod coming for you, you could try the xclamp fix which would probably solve this, unless its done properly it probably wont last long, i got a 360 a while back for free which sometimes rrod'd and often froze and i just used flux on the gpu and heat gunned it and its been going fine for about a month, also my other 2 boxes have also had rrod's and are still going with the heatgun and flux fix and its been about 5 months for 1 of them and about 3 for the other

Re: Freezing but no RROD

Yes it did freeze when i played GTAIV and Forza 3 which always freeze. The other thing I forgot to mention is that when I installed MW2 to the hard drive and tried to play it from there it says that it is unreadable. I will do the xclamp fix and see if that helps. Thanks.

Re: Freezing but no RROD

I am about to finish the xclamp fix but I am wondering if I should do the last step which involves overheating my 360 until I get the RROD, since I didn't have a RROD before I did this fix. Should I just put it back together or should I follow the steps and not worry about getting the lights to come on?

Re: Freezing but no RROD

Try it without overheating it, I wouldn't recommend overheating it at to be honest as you can damage other components, if it still doesn't work without overheating then I would recommend a heatgun and some flux.

Ok so i did the xclamp fix and now it freezes more often. What should be the next step? I am considering just buying a new one.
