Please help, I have a version 1.6 and installed the 2.6CE mod chip last night. I'm fairly confident that all is installed correctly and all solder joints are good. Anyway here are my symptoms.

Power on, the chip light comes on and I hear the hd do a short spin then the chip light goes off. This happens three times. On the third time the chip light will stay on and the eject button starts flashing red and green. I get no video or audio and the dvd drive won't eject. If I turn the chip switch off and cycle the power then it boots to the regular xBox bios successfully. I haven't flashed the mod chip or anything yet. I just completed the physical installation per the instructions.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What you have is called a FRAG (Flashing Red And Green). What method did you use to rebuild the LPC area? I would also check the connection between the wires and switchboard.

I used the installation instructions provided at the link http://www.system-mods.com/guides/xecuter26/.

I used 30awg wire jumpers on the bottom of the board for the rebuild. I did find a post that talked about the pcb rebuild piece included in my kit. I didn't use it. Is that for use in place of jumpers or do I do both?

It was there to make your life easier, and help save your time from save problems like this so you can get stuck in and play.

you were meant to use the rebuild instead of wires.

Thanks for the help, I'm extremely sorry. I committed the ultimate sin by even asking the question. I'll try the suggestions that are in other posts and see if I can get things working. I really should've read the "Read this first" thread.

It has to be a bad solder somewhere. Grab a magnifying glass and look over your soldering very carefully.
