GENERAL Help on Flashing Xbox360 Phat (liteon/benq) with LT 2.0

Hi Guyz,

Im new to the flashing XBOX360 but good in technology using, to make it short I have XBOX360 flashed to LT1.1 before by someone, I want to play the XGD3 games so I need to flash it with LT+ 2.0

I was reading that I need to reset the drive to stock firmware and having the drive bin/key , I don't have the drive bin/key so is it still possible to flash it with LT+ 2.0 ?

and what is the best and easiest hardware I can use to flash it .

Note: Because I read before also that Liteon need Probe3 I never saw that guy used the probe3 to flash my drive

Can you also predict what type of liteon available in my XBOX360 (yellow Wires inside)

If you can't get the Drive key or dummy.bin file from the guy that flashed it previously then you will need to purchase a Probe 3 and extract the key yourself.

You should also get yourself a CK3i or CK3 Pro (this is needed to power the Drive) and a X360USB PRO (this allows the flash of data to the drive), when you get those bits of hardware, head over to the Tutorials section of the Forum, find the drive for your make and model and get it updated to LT 2.0.

You can normally get a package deal that includes a CK3i, X360 USBPRO and Probe 3 all in one,

check out the official distributors list HERE

Oh and Yes! you should always flash your drive to stock firmware before any major update.

Probe 3 and a ck3 pro/lite or ck3i is whats needed for phat lite ons.

if you on the latest dash then your liteon is now 02510C,so you use the stock fw from the liteon post 13141 folder.

if you on a dash lower than 13146 then you would use one of the stock fw from the liteon pre 13141 folder.

as for what drive you have it will tell you on the top of the drive.

Okay thanks for all of you ! was a very good answers..

A small question, im familier with flashing other devices Apple,PSP's etc, but alsoI like to read people experience/issues that come up with them..

and regarding to Xbox360 from long time ago I didn't try to flash it as I always have a thought I will lead to drive failure or error in writing the firmware...

So Should I expect having any (unexpecting) troubles while flashing my drive or it's straight forward process and let's say people who get an issues with flashing their Xbox it's related to their miss understanding to the Flashing process.

if you get the right tools and follow the tutorial, you can not go wrong - if anything does happen - just ask on here

As long you have the Drivekey you can't go wrong.
Even if the flash fails you have the key and can flash it again and again until it works!

@dgenx : I don't play online so far and I didn't update my XBox360 since kinent is out ... I still remember im on the first dashboard firmware after Kinect been released.

Regarding to my drive I really don't have the tools to open the Xbox360 it's jasper/Modern warfare 2 special edition.

I saw the first time I flashed it ... The guy never used a probe 3 to extract the key .. I was really confused how it have a yellow wires but it could not be a liteon ?

Anyway Also after the XGD3 can anyone help how to burn the games on DVDS ? and why when I check it with Abgx360 it says "can't identify XBox360 Iso ? "

How to resolve this ?

ABGX360 does not yet Support XGD3 discs, thats why it does not work.

For info: If your drive was a Benq, Sammy or Hitachi then you can read your drive key in JF, only Lite-on drives require a probe 3 to extract the key on PHAT systems.

XT adapter - puts external molex and SATA on the back of your pc

HDD adaptor - allows u to connect up your xbox 360 Hard Drive

if u rip the game correctly with the 0800v3 and burn with burner max on iHAS drive, then you are as safe as can be

The prkbe 3 is cheap but if you dont want to drope the couple bucks you can make one. There are tuts here onhowto do it. But trust me theprobe 3 is well worth the couple bucks

Ninja, I am in the same boat have a phat with Lite-On drive. Currently on latest Dash with drive flashed to LT1.9

The flash was done by a mate, 60mile round trip, waiting few weeks to get it back everytime I want it flashed.

Going from what youve said above, I dont have the original key/dummy.bin for the drive either, so if i use the probe 3 will it not just bring me up the flashed key?

And when you say always flash the drive to stock before a major update is that before a firmware or Dash update.

Just got my first X360Usb Pro, Ck3i & probe 3 so wanna get it right

Some people will be willing to get the key for you if you pay them, but will prob be better(cheaper) to buy ck3 and probev3 i do it all the time for local people and via post
