Help Please - Linking Xbox360 to PC and Internet ???

Hi

I am on NTL broadband and have a cable modem. I have just purchased a linksys router and will NOT be using wirless but a rj45 cable.

Is it now possible for me to connect to internet for online gaming and pc (since i have windows media centre rev2).

How do i go about this ? All i have done so far is is power up router (not installed any disc).
- Plugged ethernet cable from 360 to port 1 on router.
- Plugged another ethernet cable from ethernet connection on broadband router to ethernet connection on router.

What is my next step ??? :?:

O.k. got it all sorted i think. It is now asking me to update xbox when i go to join live. Is this SAFE with Xtreme 360 ?

if yes, what is the next thing i need to do as a complete noob..

Also i first connected to my pc media centre no probs. How do you go back to original screen without turning box off and on ? Do i have to store specific files in specific places ie movies in movie files folder eg where would i put a film to play through 360 ?

How the hell do i join live, it says i'm signed in. What is my next step. Keeps asking me for last 4 digits of credit card, name , address etc ??

I cannot even get online...lol
