if you mean power eject at same time to get backup no it will flash what ever your switch setting are
boot backup change switch to off on off off off will flash banks 5678 with bios
my setup
x3 3294 bios on on off off off =1mb
x2 5035 bios on off on off off =512k
flashbios 3.0.1 on off off on off =256k
flashbios 3.0.3 off off off on off =256k
all up = 2mb
only flash other banks if backup works if it dose not work flash it with x3 bios option flash backup rom in x3 config
flashbios 3.0.1 works on v1.0 to v1.6 xbox but not v1.6b
flashbios 3.0.3 works on v1.0 to v1.6b but not on v1.6 xbox

@DJBOODY:
How did you flash your X3 with these biosses?
I want to flash my X3 the same way:
x3 3294
bios on on off off off =1mb
x2 5035 bios on off on off off =512k
flashbios 3.0.1 on off off on off =256k
flashbios 3.0.3 off off off on off =256k

I flashed bank 1-4 with x3.3294, no probs whatsoever, but then I try to flash bank 5-6 with x2.5035 using the above switch settings, I get a halt error, and sometimes de X3 bios on bank 1-4 is gone to, so I have to reflash these banks.
I can flash like above using the OS (soft switches) and I can select these biosses from the OS, X2.5035 and FB 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 start whitout a problem, but when I try to use the switches, the xbox reboots 3 times, and I get a blue screen.
Flashing using the external switch will not work for me somehow, so I am curious how you flashed your X3.

I managed to flash and boot X2.5035, but I had to use bank 5-8.
I first flashed 5-6 with X2.5035, then 7-8, and then I had to select off-on-off-off for X2.5035 to start.
If I select on-off-on-off or off-off-on-off the xbox shuts down and on for 3 times, and then I get a blue screen.
The same for Flashbios 3.0.3, I had to flash all 4 256k banks 5-8 before flashbios would start, also using off-on-off-off
If I use the 4 switches for the last 4 256k banks the same thing happens, so it looks I can only use 2 x 1m banks instead of 512k or 256k, is this normal??

Switch settings are ok, and yes, I am using a 512k size X2 bios, so that should not be a problem. I also use 256k size Flashbios 3.01 and 3.03.
I have a Control Panel, with build in Pro Switch, so I am also pushing the button. I even installed the original external switch that came with the X3CE, to make sure that it is not a (Pro) switch problem.
When I use the Proswitch, or the Standard switch, and check the settings in Config Live, it seems to work, every switch change is noticed in Config Live, I can switch all the 256k, 512k and 1mb banks.

Ok, I downloaded X3.3294, X2.5035 and Flashbios 3.03 from xbins.
Used X3 eraser to clear the X3 eeprom and flashed the new X3 bios.
After that I flashed the X2 bios on bank 5-6, selected on off on off, no boot from these banks, flashed X2 to bank 7-8, selected off off on off, again no boot only 3 times power on and off, and then a blue screen with flashing eject button.
Selected off on off off (second 1mb bank) and the xbox starts with the X2 bios ?????
Tried flashing X2 to the first banks 1-2, start the xbox using on on on off, nothing happens, switch to on on off off (first 1mb bank) and the xbox starts, using the config live from the X3 bios, but when I check in XBMC it says X2.5035 1-5, what the ...
Used the OS to flash bank 5-6 with X2.5035 bank 7 with flashbios 3.03 and bank 8 with flashbios 3.01. No luck starting the xbox using the switch for bank 5-6 or 7 or 8, but when I select the second 1mb bank off on off off the xbox starts with flashbios 3.01 I installed on bank 8 ?????

If I select bank 5-6 from within the OS, and Reboot from within the OS, the xbox starts with X2.5035, if I select bank 7 from within the OS, and reboot, de xbox starts with Flashbios 3.03, bank 8 starts with Flashbios 3.01.
So the biosses are good, the X3CE can handle the biosses, but when I use the switch, strange things happen.
The more I try, the more I get confused.

Could there be something wrong with my X3CE??

First of all, thank you for your support.

I wil remove the X3 tonight and check it. Also gona check all connectors and wireing. But..

If I tryed the other switch, then I also tryed other wireing, cuz thats part of the switch, right???
Strange thing however is, when I boot into config live, I can see the switch settings, when I press the switches (or slide the switches on the original switch), I can see the settings change in config live, so the X3 and config live notice changes in switch settings, thats why my first thoughts where, there is no problem with the switch.

I will check tonight and let you know.

Ok, removed my chip and switch wireing, checked all pins that are present on the chip, checked both the proswitch cable as the standard switch cable.
No bent pins, no broken wires, nothing that looks broken.
Replaced evrything, started from 1-4, boots normal to X3.3294.
Flashed 7-8, same problem. Still cant flash the way I want.

Any other suggestions???

I received an other X3CE, from an other supplier for my friends xbox.
Placed this one in my xbox, flashed it with different biosses, and no probs whatsoever.
Looks like my X3CE is not ok, there must be something wrong.
I mailed the shop I bought the X3 from, and asked him to replace the chip.
Lets hope he replies with positive news.

Received a new chip today, installed it in my xbox.
Flashed it like:
1-4 X3.3294
5-6 X2.5035
7 M8+
8 Flashbios 3.03

I can load any bios I want, so it was a chip problem for sure.

Thanks again for your help..
