Hi everyone

I've just done the reset glitch on a falcon to grab a lost dvd key. I used matrix nand flasher and matrix glitcher. Everything went fine xell booted within seconds. I've flashed the original nand dump back and uninstalled the glitcher and nandflasher but now i get E79 when I power on the console.

Maybe i've flashed the original nand wrong (dumps have no errors or bad blocks)

Please can someone help

Ps all solder points are fine (clean + tidy)

If i get it sorted i'll let you know how.

You've messed up somewhere along the line.

Did you edit your NAND at all before the process?

The RGH doesn't do anything permanently to the console, so if you had a good dump to begin with and you've not updated it in the meantime, flashing it back should not be a problem.

To clarify - the original NAND dump you took must be the exact state the console is in now, minus the data on the console's NAND. If it's taken an update, you might need to edit this to reflect the fact.

Hi Martin C
I haven't edited my original nand dump.

I made 2 dumps, compared them in nandpro with no differences.

Created file and wrote to nand.

Installed matrix glitcher.

Xell loaded within seconds.

Got dvd + cpu key.

Desoldered matrix glitcher.

Wrote 1st dump back to nand.

Got E79.

(i followed the tut from the matrix website)

hope this helps explain what ive done.

I had exactly the same problem. I tried every different command in nandpro. Tried erasing then writing original. Tried using a donor. Tried shorting the NAND with bare kynar wire across legs. Nothing resolved it in the end so I gave my customer a different console and kept this one glitched.

Strange isnt it.

If u hv the time could u do a quick list of how u did it just incase i hv missed something in the tut.

Maybe it will help as i cant think of anything else.

Guys if u got the reset glitch working.. I mean Xell running... Then here is your solution:

Download Rawflash-v2.

Put the Xenon.elf of Rawflash-v2 on an USB Stick and put your Original nand dump there 2.

Just rename ur original nand to : nandflash.bin

Plug in the USB into the XBox and watch the magic happen. You can now remove the coolrunner or glitchchip.

Start your XBox and you will see It's back to stock or how u also can call it : Original.

P.S. If you want to be sure that It worked before you remove the coolrunner or glitchchip.... Just cut the power wire for test (of the coolrunner or glitchchip). The XBox will Boot in Original with no problems still all other wires are attached.

Please gimme some feedback if it worked for you.

Greetings,
Neill*

Im using the matrix usb nandflasher.

I just cant understand how xell runs fine and the stock gives E79.

I will just keep trying and hope i get it sorted.

Well if that worked, then there's something iffy with your USB SPI flasher or the wiring.

Glad it worked for you, however I'd address this ASAP as you'll have issues elsewhere.

Hi martin

i dont think there can be anything wrong with the spi or wiring as i flashed my ecc file and booted xell with no problem.

Also i dont think there can be anything wrong with my nand dump as ive just used it to flash via usb.

Id love to know what the problem was, but im just over the moon i got it working.

Well you're rawflashing the same NAND over two different types of transport. One via USB directly to the console via an app, the other via an SPI Flasher wired to the southbridge.

Because the first 50 blocks wrote back doesn't necessarily mean all's ok.

We could rule it out by doing another NAND dump via USB SPI and comparing it to the one you built (provided you've not changed anything since) ?

Like you say, it's working so probably best to leave well alone!
