Hi guys,

Someone tell me why this is happening, i understand that for any file over 4gb simplexiso requires an NTFS partition, now wtf is one of those?

Is there any way round this? another image creation program etc?

I have made loads of images ove 4 gb before for films and i have never come across this?

Any help or wisdom on the subject greatly appreciated.

NTFS is the windows file sytem commonly used by NT, 2000, and XP. and the only way to get or use one of these NTFS partitions would be to have one of these versions of windows, or to use a program in linux. If you are using XP, and have a hard drive over 15GB, I would suggest sometime in the near future you back up your data and reformat your HD in NTFS. Just all around faster.

There's a common misconception that you MUST make an xISO in order to burn files to CD/DVD. This is not the case.

Open Nero. Select DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO). Under UDF check the option for Force DVD-Video compatibility for Xbox.

Drag your Xbox files over, making sure you keep file and folder integrity intact. (the default.xbe for the game/app should be in the root of the structure).

Burn the disk. This DOES work BTW - I do it all the time.

Oh that's great advice martin C!!!! Top info. I didn't know this. I've been wasting double space whenever I wanted to burn an xbox game.

oh what a surprise i can't pm you so here goes.

Xecuter why do you have to be so damn negative. Yes google is available for every single question anyone could possibly pose. Are you suggesting everyone (i.e. Xecuter's customers) need to search google before troubling the forums?
One of the main reasons i chose an xecuter modchip is the help and advice given on your site and forums, which appears to be given grudgingly if it does not push the boundaries of your own personal knowledge. I would imagine that you quite possibly new exactly what Martin had told me, would it not have been easier, quicker and certainly more gracious to have told me or reinforced Martins comments, instead of the sarcastic quip?

I see no harm in asking people who i trust to give me a competent answer. After all its not like i am asking for a tutorial on how to fit a modchip.
I looked at google and found out all about NTFS but that did not help me as i run 98se, so i need an alternative? To which Martin so succinctly answered without fuss or sarcasm.

Ultimately, if i would not have asked the question, Martin would not have enlightened so many people as to the hidden wonders of Nero.

Not everyone is as knowledgable as yourself and if you really wish to help people on this forum i would suggest a little more patience, otherwise if you do not have anything constructive to say, don't say anything.
After all it is in the best interests of Xecuter and any commercial enterprise for that matter to provide good customer service to ensure repeat business and increased sales, more profit, allowing more development etc etc

Thank you

I agree. The question was legitimate and was not something covered in the FAQs like "Why does my box FRAG ?". Everybody should make an effort to read the FAQs and/or google before posting, but very often you don't turn up the information you seek.

Yes he is talking about the latest version of Nero (6)...

And the checkbox is found in the program itself, when you choose for example to build a new DVD-ROM (UDF) in UDF TAG, there is a checkbox that talk about the ... XBOX

i am going to try this tonight or tomorrow. it seems then that if you dont mind sacrificing the auto launch then you can put more than one game on the dvd. i have already done multiple games on one dvd using the iso approach. the problem is that i cant read the games in either my PC or using dvd2xbox.

i tried burning MOH frontline lastnight using the udf/iso burn in nero 6; i burned the files NOT the iso. it wouldn't play correctly in my xbox even though the standard xisos i made prior have worked. still i prefer this udf/iso burn using the files and not an xiso since i can transfer from my pc to my xbox. i always prefer to have the ability of a pc reading a disk rather than the cheap xbox dvd.

curiously when i made a different dvd using udf/iso burn with two games on it it seems to have played fine. not sure if its just the MOH or if i should have used an xiso with it. MOH is the only game that wont let me launch back to the evox dash???

thanks for the tip on craxtio4. i will use it from now on with multiple games.

jeff

PS with a 200 gig drive i really dont see the need to ever play games from the dvd. my main goal is to have a backup of the files just in case. using the udf is really great and avoids the need to extract xisos.
