I wanted to desolder the J1D1 connector circled on the picture j1d1 connector.gifso I can lay my coolrunner down neatly but upon desoldering I tore the pads off by accident. I dont use the connector since my xbox is a 250GB one and the connector is only for the 4GB internal memory. I was wondering if I should worry about the torn pads and reconnect the trace somehow or if its okay to just leave it as is, since it would not be used.

Yes I turned the console on and used it with no problem. RGH works and all. Just checking if it would be a problem leaving it as is. Since the socket is locked on the 250GB models, no current would run through it anyways. Correct?

Leaving it as it is absolutely fine. It’ll stay that way until someone puts a card it. Also, please note that since you’re not using that particular socket, there’ll be some pins in the connector on the motherboard that are pulled up. Now these pull-ups are unnecessarily creating heat and wasting current on the motherboard. If possible find the pull-ups and remove those and you’ll have a completely fine system.
