Help upgrading HD

I bought a ver 1.1 Xbox without a hard drive and I put an executer 2.6 in my Xbox but I don’t have an EPROM for it or the original HD. I do have an 80 gig Maxtor to put in it. I can’t seem to figure it out. Can anyone help?

Ensure the drive is set to cable select via the jumper, stick it in the box along with the X2.6, rebuild the drive using a boot CD (slayers/auto install deluxe etc) and away you go. If you want to boot the box without the chip enabled you need to lock the drive, most auto installers give you the option to lock/unlock the HD.
