Help which flashBios do i use

Hi

sorry for the noob question

All the guides for flashing seem to refer to 3.0.3 and 3.0.1

I have 3.0.0, will this version be fine or do i need to change this to a later version before i do my first bios install "X3 2914 v16plus.bin"

I have a X3 chip and a V1.6

by the way i have read a lot of guides and the FAQ's but they all use 3.0.1 as the bottom end example. This has got me worried that 3.0.0 is too old and why ask if i need to upgrade from 3.0.0 to anything above

A: No. FlashBIOS is a legal BIOS which gives you the ability to flash another BIOS to it.

Also is it strange for me to have been givin a chip last week and it has 3.0.0 on it or are some still relesed with it.

nope, flashing with 3.00 should be fine. You may want to update your backup bios to 3.01, but this probably isn't necessary.

adam.giles is right. If the current flashbios is working, there is no need to upgrade but if you really want to, then make sure you have 1.6 and not 1.6b (1.6 has Samsung memories and 1.6b has Hynix). if have 1.6, use flashbios v3.0.1. If have 1.6b, use flashbios 3.0.3

i cant get the first program on the illegal way to work(mirc) its retarted......my retarded friend downloaded the updates from the site so yea........the illegal way isnt working so im sending him to his house to burn it to a cd then try it
