Noob here with a simple question. Purchase an RRod at a pawn shop and found it only needed to be cleaned out. Use nandpro to determine Cb version 1921. Kernell is 8955. Want to JTAG but my reading tells me the fuse has been burned allready because previous user updated. Want to know if i'm on the right track and what option i have from here. Main goal was usb hdd game play. Suggestions on a mod chip would be great as well.

If the Kernel is showing as 1921 I'd still give it a try as the 1921 is supposed to be exploitable. I personally would defenitly give it a try if it was one of mine.
Want to make sure I gave the right information. Degraded showed cb = 1921. When i boot the system, the dashboard is 8955.

It's more about the cb and not the dash, cb 1921 is exploitable. Do the Jtag bit, write xell and see what happens.
Very interesting, if it actually works out. I wonder if freeboot will have any issues when you are not at 7371..

I don't see freeboot having any issues with that, I still install freeboot on consoles from 6883 & 6717 dash straight away.
aah well, i always update to 7371, so i wouldn't know
.But this is really big, i mean i would never even dump the nand of an xbox with that dashboard, if what biglou0212 said is true, any ideas what could have happened for it to still be exploitable? All i can image is R6T3 being gone or malfuntioning somehow,
