Help with an xbox 360 gratefully appreciated.

Hi im a total newb and have a problem with an xbox 360 slim. Basically my son had saved up his pocket money and had gone to a car boot with his mum and bought a large bundle of 360 games. Once home he tries the games in his 360 slim only for non of them to work.
Upon closer inspection they are all copies.

So i search for another 360 that could play them. I find one for sale 30 miles away advertised with an xecuter dvd firmwear update???? i didnt have a clue what it was all about so i contacted the seller and was told thats what he needed to play the games. He also said that and it had an upgraded hard drive inside it (if that makes any difference) We drive the 30 miles and pick it up, get home plug it in and great it plays the games.

Not so great as the when i change the normal scart lead over to a hdmi lead the hdmi port doesnt work....FFS... So my predicament is how easy is it to replace the hdmi port, or even better are any of your guys in the Leicestershire area of the UK that could maybe do something to my 360 slim so he could use that to play his games instead of the waste of money 360 we have just bought.

Does the HDMI port have any damage? (bent pins etc)
Try pressing and holding the Y button and Right Trigger at the same time as it boots up when you have it plugged into HDMI. This will reset the video settings.

Thank you for the reply, no visible damage from the outside, i did buy the composite hd lead which plugs into the other port and that worked fine, but again i have another problem my sons t.v doesn't have the composite ports. I also have tried the video settings reset but unfortunately this didn't work. Is there anyway of knowing as to what the drive has been flashed with so i could do a bit of reading up on it?

i would replace the hdmi port . and if that fails i believe that could be sb problem

get ahold of geek . he will take care of u. post on here for service . as long as the slims not a winchester board . he will be able to flash drive or change out drive pcb board so u can play back-up copys of the games goodluck
