help with bios

installed a 2.6ce into my box (v1.6) get the flashbios 3.03 screen up, use the M8v1.6 bios to flash it, says its flashing then turns off, turn it back on and then the flashbios 3.03 screen comes back on...is this normal?!?

just read on here that the 1.6 box needs to be run from 3.01 flashbios, so bank 1, but when i switch to bank one it goes to frag, where as bank 2 brings up the flashbios 3.03 screen why would it do this ?

On the FlashBIOS download pages there is info regarding the compatibility of each version... 1.6 and 1.6b boxes differ on which is supported. Might be the cause of your FRAG on bank 1. Or you have successfully flashed a bad BIOS file (256KB maybe?) and whacked bank 1.

I would recommend obtaining a real Xecuter BIOS, X2CL 5035. Many more features than the EvoX M8 BIOS. And it's already 512KB, a valid size for flashing. Make sure you use the 1.6 compatible version. So long as you don't flash a file larger than 512KB you can keep using bank 2 to flash your chip over and over until you get it right.

cheers mate, i got it working while i was waiting on a response, got bank 2 working after flashing it with the x2 5035 version, just got to install the dash on it now
