help with buying

Hi i am in the uk and i want to have a go at flashing my xbox because i need to backup my games as the kids seem to love leaving the discs out to become scratched and unusable.I have got to the point where i just can't afford to keep replacing them.With that being said i only have a laptop with windows 8 so i need to make sure i get the correct things.Here is the list i have put together of things to get.

usb sata adapter
TX USB TO MOLEX 5V POWER CABLE
TX CK3 PROBE 3
TX X360USB PRO - SPECIAL JUNGLE EDITION
and maybe VIA 6421A card or maybe not?

i have a Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S
FW Revisions: 74850C
Am i right about what i need or am i missing something. Also can anyone recommend a good place to buy the stuff i need?http://www.ck3.co.uk is unreachable. I was going to get someone to do it for me but with all the updates i think i should do it myself.Thanks for your help

all you need is a pc with a sata port, a homemade PMT cable which is simple to make, and a way to power the drive (not the console)

if you want to spend a few bob then buy the 360usb pro and a ck3 lite and a PMT probe

Find someone local or send your drive away to be flashed - have them send you the files to save probing at a later date.

Since slim drives are fw locked, I can't see Microsoft changing drive fw any time soon. Just my opinion!

Thats your cheapest option before you start buying a load of gear for one console. Why is ck3.co.uk unreachable? You need to sign up/log in to see the good stuff!

yeah its unreachable.Some server 504 errors.I only have a laptop.So to power the drive i need the TX USB TO MOLEX 5V POWER CABLE and also because im on a laptop should i get a VIA 6421A card to plug into the usb or no?Thanks I live on the welsh border so its hard to find someone to do it

Also is there anyone in herefordshire uk thats available(edit for flashing NOT a date)lol

have you also thought about how you are going to make backups once you have successfully flashed your drive?? as you will need another xbox drive to rip a backup plus a drive (compatible lite-on either flashed or using burnermax) for writing to disk?? i personally find it easier using my desktop pc for all this. feel free to correct me if im wrong guys

yeah i have am gonna get a compatible burner and have all the software.But i dont think my hp notebook has a pcmcia slot.So unless there is a way round this im finished before getting started

i cant get hold of usbpro v2 (all sold out or i cant connect to the site).If doing it without them wouldn't i need a pcmcia slot.Can you link me to a tutorial for laptops.
