Hi
I have a Hitachi v47 flashed with extreme 1.2
I have problems with 2 games I backed up. I have Gear s of war and a bunch of others working but when it comes to call of duty 3 and Dead rising i get a Dirty disc error.

I am using a Ts-H552b to backup the games. And am burning them to Fujifilm DL media.

Any idea's on what could be the problem?
anything is much apreciated.

And should i try to reburn it?

yeah , I bitset my media to DVDrom every time I use IMG burn. Im gonna try Verbatiums. I only have a couple bad burns. Werid thing is it will tell me unrecegnised disc then If i leave the disc in the drive and play the game through the Dashboard after like one minute of staying idle , It works. Very fishy

Yea I've had this problem, I'm using firmware 5.2B running high quality medium and yet sometimes I still get the dirty disc error. It seems to be a strange issue which I've been experiencing for a while now.

Sometimes simply restarting the console and either having it lay flat or standing fixes the issue right away.

Hopefully the next version of xtreme we will see this problem get fixed.

Edit: now I'm scared, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdgT-9lOEE4

I honestly think that most problems result from drive lasers. I have an MS25 and up until a few weeks ago had never experienced any problems, no matter what speed I used. Now, some of my backups won't work or they will work and then I get the unreadable disc during gameplay. It seems to happen more frequently on some games more than others, even if I used the same settings to burn each game. I don't think the lasers were meant to be used with DVD+R DL discs - because they sure don't last very long afterwards.

I think it's the lasers that don't last. Because I can put my backups in a freshly-modded drive and they all work fine. Then again it may be the firmware too, some people think it's gotten too advanced, to the point where adding features has its costs (read issues).

Who knows...

hmmm very interesting. Well I'll just wait for the next firmware or should I flash to an older firmware?

Well after like 3 months it did what you guys are talking about where you would get the unrecognized disc error. So what i did was took apart my 360 and dvd rom and took some rubbing alcohol which is completely safe to use and put it on a Q-tip and carefully swiped it on the laser as not to damage it. After I did that all my games booted right up and play perfect now with no errors.

Thats a good idea and makes since, although I haven't gotten the chance to play any backups yet.

Well I also see that my backups are now working less frequently and I have only had my 360 for 1.5 weeks. I find that if I am playing and turn off my console then try to boot up a game I get a unrecognised disc. I leave it for like 10 minutes put the disc back in boot it up and restart it then it boots fine. oh and today Gears of war just stopped and gave me a unrecognised disc error. Any Ideas are greatly apreciated

One other thing I have noticed is that when the drive has been running for a long period of time it will get "HOT" and give you a Unrecognized Disc Error, and the games will rarely boot back up. But when you turn it on after it has been off for long time and the drive is "COLD" it will read anything.

I was getting unplayable disk error at a certain point in Gears of War, happened at the same exact spot. So i figured i would flash my drive again and instead of using xtreme 5.2b i used 5.2a, first try it gets past the "unplayable disk error" spot. I don't know if this fixes it or what, but it worked for me.

DL Media = Verbatim

I just flashed my xbox today and i got 4 or 5 times the disk error message, with gears of war and dead rising, why can it be? Should i use my originals instead of the back ups? It makes a lot more noice with the back ups, Is that going to ruin the lens? Thank you!!
