HI guys. I dont know if this is the right spot to put but anyway. I am having trouble with evo. I have it set up and its working fine. I used someone elses evo.ini file to set up mine. I have all the buttons I need in the evox menu and I somewhat understand it.

However. I cannot figure out how to burn games to the hd and then play them without a disk. I dont know what files I need or where to put them.

Any information would be most appreciated..or link to a site that explains very well. Thanks guys.. You all have been most helpful before.

you need an app like dvd2xbox that will copy xbox game discs onto the hdd.

first you need a folder for your games, which will probably be specified in the settings or there will be a folder called games

to upload it get a program called qwix and use that to upload to the game folder

to be perfectly honest your better off using unleashx rather than evox as it can copy games straight off the disc

download the dvd2xbox .zip file (maybe .rar i forget) and extract the contents on your pc. Then edit the .ini or .xml it has to your likings an then upload to your apps/applications folder on you xbox. If you evox.ini file is setup right you should be able to launch dvd2xbox. when that is launched you can then copy games/dvd's to your hdd.

edit: hold on, is he trying to backup a disc to te hdd or is he trying to take a .iso file on his pc and uploading it to his xbox?

Thanks for your help guys. Turns out what I had was the dongle free DVDX2.. and not DVD2xbox.. So I got it running and I have successfully copied a game to the hd..

But now I need to know what to do with the dvdx2.iso file so that I can watch dvd's without that dongle. I dont know where to put it and the txt that came with it does not tell where.

Thanks again for you guys quick responses and help. Happy new years to all you guys.

Hey,
You have to extract the ISO first. You can get QUIX from www.teamavalaunch.com. It's probably the best utility for ISO's.

Then you put it on your xbox hard drive the same way you loaded dvd2xbox.

does that tool work with xbox isos though? i just checked their site but i've never heard of it before this. Still, quix as some very useful features like uploading a game iso to a folder on your hdd from pc.
oh i thought he was just talking about general iso's on a computer not the xiso's

I just downloaded Xbox Media Center from www.xboxmediacenter.com . I download the sourcecode. Then I ftp the files into my apps section on the C drive of my xbox. That file is huge. Anyway I cannot access it in my evox menus.. Did I put it in the wrong spot or do I have to do something different. Plz help

I have tried. It says the files are mirrored on another site. And I read the instructions on the homepage for install. I have done everything right. But I didnt receive the default.xbe file with the sorcecode. I got everything else but that file. That is why I cant launch it. Someone could mail me the file.. [email protected]
