FIRST STEP IS TO MAKE SURE THE MOD IS IN 1MB FLASHING MODE. IF YOU HAVE THE SWITCH CONNECTED THEN YOU NEED TO SET THE SWITCHES TO "ON ON OFF OFF OFF" THIS WILL FLASH THE X3 BIOS TO THE FIRST 1MB PART OF THE X3's 2MB FLASH ROM. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SWITCHES CONNECTED THE X3 WILL DEFAULT TO THE FIRST 1MB ANYWAY. MAKE SURE THE FLASH PROTECT SWITCH ON THE X3 IS SET TO DISABLED.
Fist off let me tell you about my box. The man date on it is November 08th, 2004. I have a Phillips drive and a Seagate 120gb HD. Oh yeah - and a X3 Chip installed with flashbios 3.01

All the switches were set to off on the front panel off. I turned on the box and got the regular xbox boot up screen then it said my xbox needed service. Turned off the box and set all switchs to on (except flash protect) and I got the flash screen. Turned off and set the switches to what is above in the quotes and it went back to the xbox retial screen.

Do I have to boot up with all of them on and then switch then to on on off off off?

THanks!

MS28 modding. Flashes perfectly. Doesn't read games.

I'm still quite new to this, but I think I have it pretty well figured out, or at least I thought I did.

I have an xbox whose unmodded MS28 had died. I grabbed the orig.bin for it, and started the process of replacing it with another MS28. I tried xtreme53c. Tossed the orig key into it, and tossed it onto a USB using XBM 0.3.6. Everything seemed to go just fine, samread, fine, samhack, fine, all green, seemed good to go. Final result was total non-recognition of original games. Not the "Play DVD" error, it would just keep saying "open tray" like it didn't even see it there. I could hear it spin...

I've also tried iXtreme 1.61 using some version of iPrep, again, everything seemed to work, bank0 - bank3, all good to go. Hook up the xbox and toss in an original game, white screen telling me to "put it into an xbox 360 console". What could be the cause of this, what versions of what should I use, and what other information from me, would help you guys out? Am I missing something?

Re: MS28 modding. Flashes perfectly. Doesn't read gam

id use the new jf. reread the ofw off the original drive, with jf. check that the key its giving you looks good on the firmware tab. sammys can sometimes give out a key of 000000000000000 if this happens then its not the correct key and if spoofed to your new drive will not work. check this and then if the keys good, hook up your new drive and drop the ofw onto that.
