help with hitachi drive and it not working properly

the drive shows up under my dvd/cd-rom drives in device manager, but theres a yellow thing on it and when i go to properties its saying, No drivers are installed for this device.

i used to see the drive letter, but now its giving me a yellow thing, any help please?

What chipset do you have? Have you tried updating your drivers?

i have a SYBA SY-VIA-150R PCI SATA / IDE Combo RAID Controller Card RAID 0,1,0+1 JBOD, and you meaning updating the drivers for the sata? or the 360 HD? because i just got this hd 2day

EDIT: even when i try to update the sata, windows says it cannot find any later one, then the one i already have.

Check what version your drivers are. WIndows update doesnt find the most current drivers for your Via 6421A or L (Syba 150R). You can go to viaarena.com and get the most up to date drivers. They should be v5.40.

I am not saying that this will fix it but it will eliminate one of the questions.

Anyways, you want these drivers:

Discrete Serial ATA RAID controllers VT6420/1 ( VT6420 VT6421 )

It says v5.30c but i know v5.40 was released (because i have them on my other pc).

so i would install the 5.30c one because i think 5.40a is for vista, which i do not have.

EDIT: also when i do try to install the 5.30 it just idles and the bar doesnt move off of 0

#1 and #2 I already have down good, but what does #3 because in my computer I see it says CD Drive J, and when I try to flash it, it gives the above error***

Move your X-LG folder to the C: drive and run it from there. Dos doesn't like directories (folders) with more than 8 characters in the name.

i did move it to the C drive look at the error i posted, i typed C:\X-LG>FLASH23S J 1332

in dos and i got all those errors

well what i did was insert my via cord into the other slot, and when it said scanning i just unplugd my cord from the 360 dvd drive, then plugd it bac in as slax started up, then when it said spinning disc, i put it into modeB and from then on, it went good, i flashed my 360 and now i hope to play some games, though i did have a problem playing a game i burnd with dvd decrypter last nite
