Hi:

Here:

https://picasaweb.google.com/101558303146911777176/XBOXDead2

you can see the image before reparing and the same with two orange circles indicating what we joined together (we put the end of the cable on the tube, via as you say, and solder there and on the resistor leg).

I do not know if there is something between them... but theorically not, only the broken line from one to the other.

Thanks.
Any reason why you guys havent tried alt points?

The via was very visible on the back of the board. We don't know if there is any other reason to connect a cable from the back to the top.

We tested continuity in the alternative point and its ok and there is no joint around in this point...

Thanks.

Hi:

Yes, I can read and write without problems, totally normal... the LDV should be the same because I updated, tested with some old games and made the backups but yes, I will try to boot xell again (I will buy a new coolrunner because the one I used is working in a friend's xbox).

Anyway... no hopes... that is the true.

Thanks for your help.

I will try to boot Xell again and if it does not work... give up. I am waiting for a new chip to try (Xell now is flashed and tested that is ok).

I tested the original nand (untouched) when all the cables were soldered (no CR connected) and after the tries disconnected it, flash again original nand and 0022.

All the rest of the story is due to my seek for the solution. If you read all the post you will see... solders became uglier, patience is lower... but the symthoms are now exactly the same.

There are many people with the same problem, people who prepared a lot of boxes without problem but...

I even found a guy in a forum that was sure that the LDV moved after the tries... 0022, 0022... and at the end he got Xell and the LDV was not like his original NAND.

Who knows... and I do not know if we will know.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Read my LDV sticky - XeLL doesn't use it, which is why his worked.

Unfortunately this is more and more common as people attempt to solder who haven't before. It's my understanding that someone around the underside of the CPU (or worse - the CPU itself) has blown.

I think you're right in that it's time to move on.

The ONLY thing which causes the LDV to change is if you apply an official MS update to your console (not just avatars - a proper dash update.)

Thank you for your reply . so why some ppl when try to rgh their console they get 0022 ? is that about the LDV or its about damaging the console ? (sry again for posting in your thread )

Last reply in this thread : the reason some people get 0022 is because they can't solder. Plain and simple.

Something was wrong in my board, for sure. Time will say if we are so clumsy or some discovery arises.

It is true... we are not experts soldering... but I tested and it started (in origin) with all the cables connected... the installation become uglier after every retry since the first 0022. So many solders (all ugly, can be) and it is the first machine I burn in my life!

Best wishes for the new year 2012.

P.S. Martin, I read a lot about all this... I read your LDV thread... i prefer do not say more..... good luck with your business... thanks.

You need to bear in mind that with JTAG and RGH consoles, it should be possible to remove everything and revert it to a stock console. Nothing done in the RGH or JTAG process is irreversable. Therefore simply put, if you cannot put everything back and make it work, YOU have messed up. Don't blame the console.
