no the sata cable goes from the VIA Card to the Xbox360 DVD Drive inside your xbox.

first of all if you buy the Via vt6421A sata card, the cd drivers that it has been provided to you by the manufacturer is enought, so as long as you installed it correctly like it said by the manufacturer you should not have a problem.

second you connect the xbox 360 via a sata cable to the internal sata entry on the via vt6421a

and make sure you disconnect every thing except the dvdrom that your booting the ntfsdos cd

xbox360 has the video and the power cable connected, and is off

the pc has all the ide cables harddrive and other drives disconected from the mother board, except for the cable that connects the dvdrom to the motherboard that the dos cd is inserted.

bios to boot from the dos cd

sata cable in the back of ms28 disconnected

sata cable connect internally to the sata card

sata card installed correctly

1st turn on the PC, after the bios finishes runing

connect the sata cable to the back of the ms28

2nd turn on the xbox 360

3rd wait till the dos cd is finished booting

4th type on the command line idump (and the xbox serial number)press enter

5th then will appear ixtreme primaster

6th turn the xbox360 off

7th press 1 where the ixtreme primaster is, ( if you have a watch is cool) count to 10( 10 sec) and then turn the xbox360 on

8th it should imediately dump your original firmware

then should be ready to be flashed your drive

then do the same as above but instead of idump use the iflash

is pretty easy once you do once.

any questions let me know

Peace

I'm having the same problem! Though I tried to follow the instructions Mr. NiceGuy, but when I disconnect the IDE from one of my Drives, it goes the the "how do you want to start Windows" and I select Boot windows Normally, and it won't even boot from the Disc. So I just left the drives connected, but when I do iDump and my Serial number, it brings up Primary Master, and slave! I've tried both, but nothing seems to happen. I'm also using the DosCD, because my PC as well can't boot from USB! Do you know what I can do?

Thanks!

Sorry, for the double post but I fixed it!

I plugged the Sata Cable into a different Sata port on the Card, and it found it! I did the iDump and the iFlash, and it all went good! I'm now backing up my Original Firmware! Thanks for the help anyways! Thanks Mr. NiceGuy for the tutorial! That really helped me out!!!
