I am trying to get my XBOX to boot up with Linux. Before I do, I need to understand completely how to do this. I first need to figure out what chip my box has. I bought my XBOX new in November 2004 and is a version 1.6 or 1.6b, I think. They guy I got to mod it said it was a 1.6 and hard to mod.
How can I tell what version I have?
He used a xecuter lite chip, I think. How do I figure this out?
I have a dip switch with three switches and a LED on the front. It looks like the lite version in the install guide pictures.
How do I see what version of BIOS is installed?
I was hoping I could install Linux somehow, without messing up the stuff I have installed. I hoped I could just move the switch on the front and install another bios or loader or somthing.
I know I sound hopeless, but I am really interested in this stuff and am trying to learn.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
