Help with my MS28

Hey guys,

Im having trouble flashing/reading my MS28 drive.

I have a VIA 6421a PCI Sata Card properly installed. I have the Xtreme 5.3 firmware downloaded and I successfully make my USB Stick correctly with Xtreme Boot Maker. (I am using Xtreme 5.3 because even with the updated Xtreme Boot Maker Definitions I cannot load Ixtreme into it).

So I power off my PC. At this point my sata cable is plugged into my Sata Card but NOT the 360. I power on the 360 and PC at the same time. Once I've booted from the USB and am in the DOS window I plug the sata cable into the DVD drive. I type in xRead 1234567 12345(Using 123456 12345 as an example cuz I am not posting my serial number) and I get the following:

1. ICH6P Pri Master
2. XTREME Pri Master

At this point I power off my 360. I press 2 and count to exactly 10. I then get given this error:

Sometimes I dont even get that error and just get given the Master Slave text and when I get that I press escape and get given something saying status 80 should be 70. I have no idea what i am doing wrong. It's driving me nuts!

I would really appreciate any help.

Well done for not posting your serial number on the forums
Not so well done for leaving it in plain sight in the JPG

Sarcasm aside, ensure you have the correct drivers for the SATA card and also ensure that any RAID features are switched off. Ensure you are using the correct port on the SATA card, especially not the external one.

It might also be worth experimenting with what other devices you have connected to the Internal SATA card on the PC. Best practise is to remove all other drives from the SATA before attempting to flash the xbox.

Make sure your sata cable is hooked up to the port closest to the front of the pc on the sata card. Also maybe look into what settings can be changed in the config.sys but dont change them until your certain you know what your doing.

I am using the port closest to the front of the PC and lol at the JPG didnt realise. Also where is this config.sys?

Also how do I disable Raid? I've looked in my bios and theres nothing there about it.

Ok guys i've changed to Iprep now and am using the new iXtreme firmware but i'm still having the same problem as before.

Does the 0800 Disk work on Samsung MS28's? If so how would I go about using it?

Yea the enable disc does work. But honestly i dont think thats going to do it for you. Try a different computer would be my advice.
