help with parts for flash liteon 16d4s

hello everyone im going to flash my dvd drive liteon dg-16d45 fw. 0401 winbond i need help to make sure i got the cheap set up to flash im just going to use this just for my drive.well this is what i got i order the board pcb is on the mail i got an xbox 360 phat to use as a power source for the dvd drive because i dont want to buy a tool that im just going to use twice. a sata cable to connect the dvd drive to my pc and yes my pc reads the dvd drive i already dump my key. i just need help to know thats all i need or i missing something
1-tx liteon dg-16d4s replacement pcb v1.1
2-phat xbox360 for power source i dont want to get banned and i dont care about the phat xbox
3- a pc with sata ports that reads my drive
im missing something or thats all i need? thanks in advance..

try getting a X360USB PRO V2...just a sata chipset probably wont do it and really recommend against using xbox as a power source

Why not just get a pro to do it for you. Saves buying equipment etc and less chance of failure (just a suggestion)

iam thinking becouse of the cost of a new flash every 3-6 month.. in my country 1st time it cost around 100 dollars and 2nd time, if its the same place from 40 dollars.. then its alot cheaper to do it your self ..

you will need a device to power the drive such as ck3 or ck3i

then you will need a device to transfer information from the drive pcb to you computer and back to the xbox such as the x360usb.

you can get a device there have both such as x360usb pro2

first of all read your orginal firmware out of the drive and keep it a safe place!. then you have to decide if you want to use a dreamel on the chip to unlock it or you want to buy a replacement pcb there are unlock

let someone else do it is a good idea the problem is i dont trust they will be honest and do it right. for me its like they said around"if you want something done right,you have to do it yourself."
well like i said i have the power source already an old xbox360 to power on the slim drive no need for ck3 at this point.my pc sata chipset reads the dvd drive and i dump the dummy.bin i did it twice to make sure i got the correct file and key. thanks to everyone here on the forum i follow the tutorials and get it.
i place the order already for my new tx pcb.this is all i need or im missing something im trying to doit without buying the x360usbpro spending another 60 dollars on a tool that i will use one time maybe twice is not worth it i have no plans to do this to someone else xbox just mine.i already bought the tx pcb that cost me 70 dollars i want to do it without spending anymore money..

you will probably find you wont be able to write the dummy.bin to the replacement pcb using just sata, but good luck anyway
using an old xbox as power source is risky too

also wont get any support here using improper equipment

a simple yes o no could of been better.but thanks anyways it seems at least im going to try to get x360usb pro it makes me mad to waste money for something that im just going to use once maybe twice.i probably will sell it on ebay after im done with this project.

you should have an x360usb and a ck3 or some sort, why not buy the proper tools ?

better off a usbpro v2
does both the power and sata connection

maybe you should just get someone to do it for you, or maybe borrow off someone who already has the proper equipment

well a quick update i flash my tx replacement pcb with via6421a card and using an old phat xbox360 as a power source everything went smooth.

@draco...sweet. Did u use a sata to usb adaptor or just good ole via sata? I ask as I read you may have issues using sata to flash a slim drive...no doubt what Talby was referring to. I ask as I'm thinking of getting a slim console and currently use a via card to flash my phat drive so curious to see if I have the kit to flash a slim drive (I appreciate my PC's sata chipset may be different to yours).

i use just the via pci card no adapter.all i did was this tutorial to setup my card

and dump my key first and after that just flash the drive all that without closing jungleflasher and it work.i hope it works for you too
