Help with programmer

I just got a programmer to flash my 2.6 and I connect it to the computer via the usb cord and the board lights up but nothing can find it and my computer doesnt see that is there. So I tried connecting it to the LPT port but the board doesnt even light up. Tried on 2 different computers. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I need to make the USB one work? Thanks.

Well I did the Tut but still didnt work. The blue light is still not turning on. It does come on when the computer is booting but after it loads windows it turns off. I have tried it on 3 different computers with the same result. Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Ok been checking some things out, what should the BIOS of the computer be set at for the port? And my X2BM is giving me Code 0x1010 anyone know what that means?
