hello im looking to buy a spare pcb in-case when unlocking my friend pcb i screw one up! (havent but would like to have a spare)

in searching ebay i have found many unlcoked pcb but when asking questions about what chipsets they have i cant get straight forwards answer (im asking so i know what unlock i need to do in the future to reunlock the drive after it has been locked)

i am starting to think that these drive are pemanent unlocked drive meaning simply lock and unlcok via jungle flasher is this TRUE

another eg is this is what the sent me the chipset doesnt have 03 or 05 so niether winbond or mxic?????

eg one item says The Unlocked PCB board that you will receive will have EITHER the Mediatek 1339E or 1335E chip

ive been google but i cant seem to find any info on these unlocked chipsets can anyone make sense of this?

i remember long ago that u could buy unlocked chipset and install them but was a toon of work and they came otu with work around so nobody bought them are these those chipsets just coming preinstalled on pcb now ?

The MT1335 is the normal chip used on D4S boards (MXIC (03) and Winbond (05)).

The MT1339 - when combined with an external SPI - can be used as a replacement for easy SPI locking/unlocking.

If you can't find a TX Unlocked PCB, get an unlocked MT1335 PCB or an MT1339 PCB if it has the external SPI on it.

what is an external spi ? what does that mean?
do u have a pic to better unerstand what and where to look for ?
does and external spi always have a switch ?

and is The MT1339 safe for online since its not original ?

and can it simply be unlocked via jungleflassher without and modification like the mxic and winbond

these pcbs work fine they come with a fw already on it just erase and write your correct LT3.0 fw built from a slimkey dump.

then SPI lock them.

they are not genuine boards but clones of the original with a different chipset on them and an external SPI on the board to program.

the location of the switch position is above the square hole for the laser ribbon and its a micro switch double pole single throw sliding type. hard to find.

as Utmad has stated, you can wire an external switch to the points and have the switch on the outside of the casing, but ive never tried it or figured out the pinouts for it so cant offer any more advice.

would it not be possible to wire directly to the pads for the switch ad mount the switch outside?

looking forward to seeing your solution.

Sorry for the delay I had fitted it in one of my consoles so had to take it apart.

Just had to disconnect the leg on the SPI from the PCB (red wire) and then fit the switch to toggle between 3.3V to unlock and ground to lock.

so that is what u have to do unless the drive comes with an external spi switch on it ?
The SPI is the chip I have soldered to the legs of, I added the switch so I don't have to open the drive back up to flash it.
