Ok so i soldered on the QSB and i wasnt careful and accidently soldered off a resistor and now i cant read the nand and it probably wont boot either. I think its the STBY_CLK or the resistor right in front of it. anyways i was told i could bridge the connection from that to the resistor to the right. can i do this?

i didnt realize i moved it. it doesnt look like its moved to me.

i just checked it and it may have moved a little bit but its still touching where it needs to. the problem is the resistor that i took off by mistake. how can i fix that?

Yes, you've moved it. You can SEE the solder pad for the left side of the resistor is now exposed and the resistor is going from the right solder pad to the tip of the QSB. The QSB is even discoloured after the flux in the solder has been reworked. How can you not see this?

Needless to say, get this to someone to resolve as if you can't even see this and you're staring at it, you're not really in the best of situations to fix it yourself.

well getting someone else to do it isnt an option. ive done a lot of rgh's and jtags before, just not with a slim. My soldering was rly bad this time cause like i said, i didnt have the right tip. I will look at it again but i just need to know how to fix the one resistor that i took off.

You replace it with a 34ohm SMD resistor. If you need to ask how, you shouldn't be even attempting it.

Why is it not an option for someone else to fix?

just replace it with another 34 ohms smd resistor, the pads are still there so its just a case of putting another on where you ripped it of,
you will also need to move the 0 ohms resistor on the qsb back to where it belongs. and get a smaller tip to do it all with.

alright i see how i moved it now. i have no idea how that happened. i thought that was there the whole time haha. anyway i heard someone saw i needed a 33 ohm resistor before. are you sure its not 33? and i cant go to someone else because 1) i wouldnt be making any money if i did, and 2) noone around here can. so i would just get a resistor like this
and just solder each side to the 2 small points? sounds pretty hard.

33 or 34 ohms, it doesn't really matter?

Not making money? Tough crap! You're modding people's consoles for a profit, so fix them when you break them. If you can't fix, then send to someone who can. That's the game and if you don't want to play then stop.

That's not an SMD resistor. You really are out of your depth here, aren't you? At least have the decency to let your customer know you've broken their console and outside of soldering one pad to another, you really haven't a clue what you're doing. Don't waste peoples time on here either, especially as you expect people to help you for free whilst you make money on it.

I cant believe you are charging someone to rgh there xbox when you obviously don't have up to scratch soldering skills if you are ripping resistors off the board, I certainly wouldn't offer the service if my soldering and knowledge was that poor. sorry if this offends you but its a bit out of order in my opinion.

Unfortunately it happens more and more now. Because a kid can solder one point to another, all of a sudden they think they can offer a professional service. However as proven here, they ultimately mess up and then expect others to help them for free.

OP - if you want it fixed, send it to someone or advertise on the request a service thread and someone will get back to you with a quote.

People like this really do my head in! I don't understand why you would even attempt mods with little or no understanding of electronics.
Do us all a favour and give up now, send it to someone to get it fixed and stop modding for money, gives reputable people a bad name.

haha ok ill just give up modding even though i make a profit margin of $2500-$3000 a month and barely ever mess up. Its not hard to mod, as long as you can read directions and learn to solder. which is what i did. idc if i dont know a lot about electronics. Its all about the $

and ill poist a pic but it wont be today.

Obviously it is hard, seeing as you didn't even realise you'd moved R1!!!!

As for reading directions, that's obviously too hard as well since there are loads of pages about the value of the resistor in question.

I very much doubt you're making anywhere close to that. $3k a month? There can't be that many stupid people to buy off you, surely?
