hi guys, im trying a rgh2 on my BB jasper, I have a demon to program with, but I blew the solder on the end of the cr qsb v3 - phat. the r1 solder point on the end. the xbox looks fine, but I was a little shakey and I think I burned the qsb point. ugh! can I salvage it by soldering a short wire to the end of the resister on the end there to the pad on the motherboard?? I think this would be my only save.. or do I even need this qsb to use the cr4 with the demon? im sure I do, but thought id try.. what are my options, I can take pics if you need.. help..?

so then should I put something under the qsb there so there is not incidental contact?

Actually the cr4 doesn't utilize the consoles clock so that point is no longer needed.
No need to worry about it. You can still solder it even if you don't need it. It doesn't hurt or interfere with anything. In your case you can just leave it be as is provided you didn't damage the motherboard there.

I looked for a guide on the qsb v3, couldn't find it.. theres a lot to go through, ive had my head in my laptop for a few days to get all I could before D-day.. the best I could find is tuts on the v2 qsb. I know its not too different, and It doesn't matter much to my situation, but I missed that I didn't need to solder the point.

Thanks for the help, its a relief that I can move on in the install..

Before moving on to installing the cr4 and writing to the console please verify that the console still boots. Just in case you did damage the stby clk. it will be easier to diagnose now then after you have soldered everything else in.

It really is easy to get lost in all the guides for all the products that have come out and been changed or discontinued now. There has been a lot of changes over the last few years.

I've asked before but still don't understand - if the CR4XL doesn't need the STBY_CLK then what is the point of the B wire on the CR4 in an RJTAG+ install? It connects to the B point on the QSB but the B point on the QSB isn't connected to the Motherboard?!

I still don't see the answer. The install guide for RJTAG+ for CR4 has a wire going from the B point on the CR4 to the B point on the QSB (which goes to the STBY_CLK). Are you telling me that the wire is unnecessary?

CR4 uses onboard clock for RJTAG+ to aid timing, RGH2+ doesn't need it because of it's unique mode of exploit.
